About Roaring Fork - steak house in Austin, Texas
Stylish restaurant with an Old West vibe serving flame-grilled American fare & cocktails.
Customer Review Summary
Roaring Fork offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with excellent service and delicious food. The food quality is praised, particularly the steak options and unique dishes like lamb fondue and bacon-wrapped pork. Though some dishes arrived overcooked, the staff's response was attentive, often compensating for mistakes. Drinks are strong but can add up, and while reservations are recommended due to popularity, the outdoor seating with a view is a highlight. Some reviews noted issues with specific dishes, like the Caesar salad and slow service, but overall, guests enjoyed the dining experience and expressed a desire to return.

4.5 stars - We recently celebrated our anniversary here and chose it because we enjoyed the food at Salty Sow (think it’s a sister restaurant). Overall we had a wonderful time and the vibes actually reminded us of one of our favorite places (Bartlett’s). Everything we got was tasty but the tomahawk temperature was overdone. At a $175 price point 🥴we def expected more. Our server was kind and overheard my fiancé’s comment on the temperature and comped a portion of the meal which we appreciated. We’d absolutely come back and try out other things on their menu, not to mention their drinks and desserts are tasty!

It's pricey and it's popular, but the quality of food and service live up to the reputation. Better have a reservation or be ready to sit at the bar or patio. This location also has a lovely view of the lake at sunset. Fan of the fish, which is perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside. The drink costs add up but are strong. The pies can feed several; otherwise, portions are well controlled.

Excellent service, the food and drinks seemingly came out within 15 minutes of us sitting down. It was cold outside but the outdoor patio was enclosed and nice and warm. The big ass burger was not messing around, it was huge, well worth the price. The bacon wrapped pork was also delicious and tender and a great serving size. All the drinks were a good deal and quite tasty.

Had an amazing experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious. Lamb fondue and skillet brownie were highlights—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a special night out, I highly recommend this place. Can’t wait to come back!

Was eager to try the place sadly they did the ribeye wrong. We asked for medium rare and it came out medium. When we informed the waitress she grabbed her flashlight looked at the center and then politely said to enjoy our meal. Was kind of surprised on the response. Love the atmosphere and wine selection is decent. Green chilli pork was a very pleasant surprise. Definitely order it. Only reason I gave 4 star overall was because of that.

Roaring Fork is a great restaurant with lots of good food options. I lean towards the steak each time, but the rest of the entrees are good choices too. The appetizers like the shortbread and guacamole are nice starters. The inside is pleasing and has a nice look towards Quarry Lake. If you come when the weather is nice, sitting outside offers a great option.

In or out, they had plenty of seating. A romantic aura for dining. Started with a ceaser salad, super gross, didn't like it, because the lettuce looked more depressed than me. Such a sour taste, only 4 croutons!!!! That New york strip was cooked to medium, just as a steak should be. It's really soft and juicy. The pecan pie had a great crunch with a burst of chocolate and a scoop of icecream. The guacamole is nothing special, and the chips are okay. The asparagus and the mushrooms were really good. Hated the kids running around, kinda ruined the vibe. Control your kids, cuz this ain't no chuckycheese. Service is slow, but sweet. Lots of parking, and would come again.

Food was so good! We had steak, salmon and bacon wrapped pork tenderloin. Service was on point, and even accommodated a birthday celebration.
