Customer Review Summary

Kobe Japanese Steakhouse offers a fun hibachi experience with entertaining chefs and good food. Many reviewers appreciate the great value for price, especially recommending the super fried rice bowl and hibachi shrimp. However, some guests noted issues with service, including rushed waiters and unconventional cooking methods. The ambiance received mixed feedback; while some found the dining space clean and lively, others pointed out that the hibachi area needed renovations and that bathrooms were dirty. Negative experiences included a leaking ceiling that caused discomfort and poor customer service when addressing concerns. Despite some criticisms, it remains a popular choice for friendly gatherings and family dinners, though some feel prices are rising. Overall, the restaurant has potential but may need to address service and maintenance issues for a better experience.

Been about 6 months since our last dine in - Habachi is the way to go, chef had a great sense of humor. Now carry-out is equally as awesome, prices are MORE than fair for the serving sizes. Great value for the price, HIGHLY recommend the super fried rice bowl. Only recommendation is to make the side salads (with the amazing ginger dressing) either 1. Bigger or 2. Lower the price from $4 so I can order two!

This is my first time eating here. Upon entry I was greeted with a friendly face by the host. While there was a beautiful dining room to the right, the hibachi area to the left could do with some renovation. The roof tiles were obviously old, same for the Flooring. After getting seated, our waiter, a tall tan white man with a man bun, thick mustache, and beard; kinda rushed us as we ordered. I didn't get to tell him Chicken only, no veggies, extra rise because he just kept moving on to the next customer and interrupting me. I told him that my father and I couldn't eat shellfish and found out that my food would be cooked in the back. I found that a little unconventional. Why not just cook everything else first before the seafood/shellfish? That's how other hibachi restaurants usually do it. The weirdest part about ordering here is finding out that this restaurant doesn't have fountain drinks, just bottled drink with NO refills. The chefs were good at cooking and kept everything entertaining, even the flaming drumsticks at the ends were a nice way to end off. Finally, the bathrooms, although their designs were nice, they were pretty dirty and there weren't any covers between the urinals, providing no privacy. In the end.. I won't be eating here again. Too uncomfortable and unconventional.

My experience was absolutely horrible! The ceiling leaked in the middle of eating my meal and poured down water on me, my phone, my food, and my drinks. No one came over to help me clean the water, no one apologized, I had to find an employee and ask if I could move my seat. I finally received a box for my food and headed home to change clothes since mine were soaked. I usually love eating here but it might be my last time. (Replying to Kobe) I’ve called several times to speak with a manager and every time I call there’s no manager in the building. So while leaving your number for me to call is nice, however there’s no manager ever around to take my call.

Ate here with some friends for dinner and had the hibachi meal. We all enjoyed our food and the presentation was fun without being over the top or too much. The wait staff was attentive and the restaurant was clean and well lit. I especially enjoyed the hibachi shrimp and fried rice. The beers are a tad expensive at 7 dollars each but everything else on the menu looked to be priced fairly and within expectations. This is a fun place for a night out with friends and a would be a cool third or fourth date place as the atmosphere allows you to talk without having to holler.

Kobe is always a good time with great food. Seems like prices are continuing to go up, which seems to be hurting business. Maybe 1 day a week, they should have a special buy 1 get 1 half price. Good service and atmosphere. Server Evan is excellent!

Love this place! New to TX, only been twice but it was good each time. Fresh, made to order. Appreciate the soup and salad before the meal.

Great place to visit. It was our first of many. Service was great (server was Don) and food was fresh. If your like me and like fresh greens just ask for side salad and oil, squeeze lemon and soy sauce with your choice of sashimi. The martinis were exceptional. They didn’t have the Japanese whisky, daikon or radish yet meal was very good. Must visit on your Sushi experience belt.

We visited Kobe Japanese Steakhouse in Austin with our two teenagers. It was their first time, and they liked it very much. The chef's performance was fun, and the food was delicious. A great spot for a family dinner.
