J Carver’s Oyster Bar & Chophouse

One of the best dinners I have had in a very long time. We celebrated our anniversary here, and they had a beautiful card and rose for us. Our waitress was phenomenal. She explained everything so well which made the dining experience that much more elevated. They were very accommodating of my pregnancy and advised me of alternatives for me. Along with our wonderful steak and the delicious creamed corn, we ordered the escargot which were in puff pastries and were excellent! They also gifted us with complimentary cocktails and, in celebration of our anniversary, a free dessert! It definitely came with a price tag so be prepared for that, but it was well worth it and we hope to be back!

The food was delicious, the ambiance was impeccable, and Norah our waitress was absolutely on point. She was kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. Definitely get the garlic bread, escargot, and pork chop. We looked at a lot of reviews before choosing Carvers and we definitely chose right. I would highly recommend.

Celebrated our 2 year anniversary. The staff was very polite, they decorated our table with flowers and a 2 year anniversary card. Our waiter even gave us a free dessert too. All of our food was very delicious. We for sure would come back for another visit.

The restaurant has a good wine list, but there are also other drinks. The Oscar-style bone-in filet is wonderful and I recommend it. There is also a chocolate cake that ends the dinner perfectly.

This restaurant is such a special place! My friend and I celebrated a special occasion and the employees were a part of it, congratulating and taking care of us. The wine and the steak were indescribably delicious, the best I’ve ever had! Grateful for the experience, best place in Austin!

The bread was delicious, tuna was amazing, chili shrimp was packed with flavors, and salad was refreshing. Drinks were divine. Our bartender was so entertaining, and made sure we were taken care of. I would come back here weekly if I lived closer.

A MUST when in Austin. Moved away from Austin recently but J Carver’s is a meal I will always think about. Amazing service, atmosphere, the food is out of this world and the quality has always been consistent through multiple visits. Highly recommend going in family style for ordering and make sure to order at least one non menu-item special as well. Don’t sleep on the pastas!
