I was visiting my niece at school and we decided on hibachi for dinner. Always a great meal and fun show. We both had the hibachi ribeye. Of course, traditional multi-course meal - soup, salad, 2 shrimp, entree. Prices were as expected. The food was excellent and portions were plentiful for leftovers. They serve noodles AND rice with your meal. Overall, we were pleased with the food and service and would definitely go back.

Words can not describe this place. It's just absolutely terrific and feels like you're entering heaven for ur taste buds! 🤣 I come here for special occasions to enjoy myself with my family, and it always promises to fill you, give lots of food, and get a show all at once. The hibachi chefs here are all super nice and funny, constantly making people laugh or smile while doing their cooking entertainment. The waitresses are fast to get everything needed and cleaned up, and they're super sweet and understanding! They're always clean and make sure of it before opening up for the day, leaving no crumbs or anything on the floors. They even take requests and fulfill them if not actually on the menu, such as plain white rice! The sauces they give for option are so good! So creamy, gives off a good tangy kick, and just hits the right spot with the food being paired together with it. I love the two classic favorites of ginger and yum yum sauce. The prices are average and they give you good amounts for what you pay, making it fair. They cook all the food to perfection, which melts in ur mouth and is so hot coming off of the flat grill. They always keep the flat grill clean, too constantly washing it off and scrapping it after the entertainment is all done for the night. Everything they use here is a fresh product not frozen and the same for the sushi next door to the hibachi, which also even takes on special requests. The fish tank in the little section over onto your right before going into the sushi area has a cute little corner setup with a beautiful fish tank full of beautiful and all different types of fish. They constantly keep this fish tank around unless being cleaned at the time. Let me also say how this is the only hibachi place that serves noodles! They also cook them perfectly too just like everything else. Mouth watering how good this food is and especially such a nice special treat to spoil yourself with. I will always come here if it's with family or not for a special occasion. I'm craving hibachi and feel like it! Forever love Asahi and hope they stay around for the rest of my life and my daughters! 🤣

(Review for sushi section only) This restaurant offers a superb quality of Japanese food and sushi, prepared with authentic ingredients and techniques. The prices are reasonable, considering the high standard of sushi grade seafood that is not easily available in the area. The parking situation can be challenging, but it is usually manageable. The service is always excellent, attentive, and courteous. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a satisfying and exquisite Japanese meal.

It's always a joy to come to Asahi when I'm in town visiting my in-laws! This was my second time here, and the quality was just as good if not better than my first visit 3 years ago! You definitely get your money's worth! Thank you for serving the area for over 30 years! The Hibachi chef was great, the experience and atmosphere was as great as usual!

I had combination sushi. The fish was very fresh and tasty. The price was a little high but the quality is very good. Highly recommend if you love sushi.

We went for my birthday and it was a wonderful experience. I had the steak and scallops, green salad with ginger dressing, and the soup. Delicious and the chef was fun!

Nestled in the heart of Greensboro, Asahi Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar is a culinary gem that offers an immersive Japanese dining experience. As one steps into this charming establishment, they are instantly transported to another world, thanks to the exquisite Japanese decor that adorns the space. The ambiance is a harmonious blend of traditional and modern aesthetics, creating an inviting atmosphere that beckons diners to relax and indulge. Our gastronomic journey began with the Tropical Sunrise drink, a delightful concoction brimming with fresh fruits. Its vibrant flavors danced on the palate, setting the stage for the culinary delights that were to follow. The cucumber salad was a revelation, featuring crisp cucumbers dressed in a tantalizing vinaigrette that was both refreshing and flavorful. The soup and salad with ginger dressing served as the perfect precursor to the hibachi experience. The dressing was a flawless balance of piquancy and sweetness, embodying the essence of what a ginger dressing should be. It was a delectable start that primed our appetites for the main event. The sushi selection was a testament to the freshness and quality of the ingredients used at Asahi. Each piece of fish, from the smoked salmon to the tender tuna and the surprisingly delightful octopus, was a showcase of the ocean's bounty. Their freshness was evident in every bite, offering a taste of the sea in its purest form. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the hibachi. We chose the teriyaki chicken and a combination of salmon and chicken. Each dish was cooked to perfection right before our eyes. The chef, a maestro of the hibachi grill, focused more on the finesse of cooking than on theatrics, which was a refreshing change. The meat was succulent and flavorful, and the accompanying rice and noodles were equally impressive, each element contributing to a symphony of tastes and textures. The hostess, an older woman with a comforting presence, added to the warmth of the experience. Her sweet demeanor and attentive service made us feel like honored guests in a Japanese home. Asahi Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar is not just about food; it's about an experience that extends beyond the palate. It's a place where the freshness of ingredients, the skill of the chef, and the comfort of genuine hospitality converge to create an unforgettable dining experience. The meal we enjoyed was not only satisfying but also generously portioned, leaving us with delightful leftovers for the next day. This aspect of abundance, coupled with the quality of food, makes Asahi a place where each visit feels like a special occasion. In conclusion, Asahi Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar in Greensboro is more than just a restaurant; it's a destination for those seeking an authentic Japanese dining experience. From the exquisite decorations that transport you to a different world, to the mouth-watering freshness of their seafood, and the extreme comfort offered by their gracious hostess, every aspect of Asahi speaks of a commitment to excellence. This is a place where every meal is a celebration of Japanese culinary art, and it comes as no surprise that it beckons diners to return, time and again.

Didn't expect having Japanese owner/sushi chef restaurant in this area. Steve, owner/chef took care of me with his choice of different dishes and I was satisfied, and actually ate too much... He explained to me that they gave 2 different kitchens, one for hibachi grill and one for sushi bar area. Japanese flavor was there and I will go back to try more items.
