Service was often highlighted as friendly, though some noted issues with slow drink refills and rushed meal experiences. Several patrons mentioned long wait times for seating and food, with one family expressing frustration over a two-hour wait, especially with an allergy concern. The hibachi experience varied; some enjoyed the entertainment and chef skills, while others found it lacking in showmanship and interaction. There was a little bit of a wait (10-15 minutes) before they actually took our order but once they got our order it was at our table really quickly. The food was decent quality and absolutely delicious. The service was very friendly and courteous.

Chef was very quiet. No special tricks. Food was good. Service was ok. drink refills were slow.

The bang for your buck has definitely gone downhill at both Athens locations of this hibachi restaurant. The service is ridiculously fast. The soup and salad arrived as soon as the chef did. Rice and veggies were served soon after (I hadn't finished my soup yet). The meat was served and as soon as the chef was finished the waiter arrived with the checks and boxes. We had children in our party including an infant who needs assistance to eat. I hardly touched my food before we were politely yet firmly asked if we needed anything else while they were clearing the table. No leisurely eating or savoring your $30 dinner allowed here. It's all about how quickly they can serve you and rush you out the door so they can seat the next party.

First time there to celebrate my family's January birthdays. The food was delicious. Our server was great. Our chef did an awesome job and was very entertaining. We had 2 in our party with shrimp allergies and their food was prepared in the kitchen because we had several in our group that ordered shrimp. This was much appreciated. Just let them know and they will take care of you.

This is an excellent place for a dinner, a place I haven't gone in years but now I wish I had! Let's start with the food. I'm usually a little apprehensive when it comes to trying new things, so I didn't think I'd like Hibachi food, but I ended up being completely wrong. The food was amazing. The experience was as well. For those who don't know, Sakura has their chefs out in front of the customers, cooking the food live. A staff member takes each customer's order, then the cook brings out all the raw ingredients on a cart and then cooks the food in front of the customers on a flat-topped grill. They are extremely skilled with their tools, only using a meat fork and a girdle turner to make everything from the orders. I won't spoil too much else, as I highly recommend you go there for the in-person experience. It is definitely worth it. The service was good as well. Within about 10 minutes, the chef was cooking our food, and each person was also given some white rice and soup to eat while the chef cooked, which was a great idea, because watching the chef makes you pretty hungry. The atmosphere was also amazing. There are tables surrounding 6 different cooking stations (from what I could see) and while eating you would occasionally glance at a burst of flames shooting up from one of the other grills. You do truly feel immersed. Overall, this is a great restaurant, and an even better experience. I highly recommend it.

Worst experience ever! We went here for both my kids birthdays 16 and 13. We were told it would be a 30 min wait. We waited 2 hours 😡 Then, my husband has a food allergy so they have to cook his food in the kitchen and he never even got his food. Im not above waiting 2 hours but tell me 2 hours! This was a miserable night and one that should have been enjoyable

Today, I went with two of my kids and sat at a table with another family of 8, which included half kids/half adults. The overall service was very lacking, and I had to ask multiple times for things such as napkins, a knife, and water. The Hibachi experience was extremely poor. They cooked the food, tossed the tools around slightly, and made the world's most pathetic volcano, and that was it. All the kids from both families at the table were disappointed that there wasn't more showman ship or interaction like there usually is with a hibachi place. The food only tasted ok during this visit and not much better at the last visit and the visit a few months ago. I would have rather driven further to have a better time and food for the same or even a bit more money. We will not be returning again!

Very nice clean atmosphere / setting. The food here is delicious sushi 5 stars easily. Today was my second time going to this establishment, and both visits were very good. First time had fresh sushi at the sushi bar, their volcano sushi is amazing. And their steak house portion of the traditional Japanese steakhouses was very good when I first went. Today just sat at the normal sit and dine portion of the restaurant and ordered the bento box lunch special which is a good bang for your buck. 5 stars for this location!
