Many customers report varying experiences at Texas Roadhouse, especially regarding the quality of to-go orders, which are often described as cold, burnt, or soggy. Complaints about specific dishes, such as overcooked steaks and subpar chicken fried chicken portion sizes, are common. Service quality seems to fluctuate; while some reviewers praise friendly and attentive waitstaff, others note confusion and inefficiency in operations, particularly during busy times. The rolls are frequently highlighted as a standout item, with some guests expressing disappointment in other food items or the overall execution of meals. We usually order dining in and haven’t had many issues. But everytime we order to go our food is of the lowest quality, either cold, burnt, or soggy. T house never seems to care for its to go orders it looks like. My wife is 7 months pregnant and wanted a to go order after a long day of work. We got our food and when we got home her “medium well” steak came out completely burnt and smells horrible. She couldn’t even cut the steak with a knife. Our buns also came back burnt and were very tough. We also ordered a cactus blossom that came out completely soggy, I couldn’t even pull any of it apart without all the breading falling off. I guess part of it is my fault for taking it and not even checking inside the boxes. If we ever to decide that we want to eat a to go order again, I will make sure to check the boxes and inform a manager if our food comes out with the quality it did today. Highly disappointed.

I went with my family because my sister wanted the rolls. It has been a few years since I last had dinner here at this location. The rolls were really good. We ordered the loaded cheese fries appetizer to share. It was enough for the four of us. Our entrees were pretty good too. I had a ribeye and it was cooked to my liking, medium rare. The only issue I have would be the grilled marks/method of cooking. It tasted artificial if that makes any sense. Definitely a different taste than charcoal. Aside from that, I had a pleasant experience

Now our waitress was great. However the chicken fried chicken I received was the smallest one I’ve ever seen, essentially a soft chicken tender with a bowl of the soupiest and watery gravy I’ve ever had. I’ve added what a regular one looks like from other Texas roadhouses. Don’t know if this is normal for this location but the staff said it was. Suffolk and Chesapeake serve normal chicken fried chicken.

Came on Valentine's Day, knowing it would be busy but this Restaurant location system is unfair. I arrived at this location at 7:00PM Checked into the waitlist online at 6:40PM, told it was going to be a hour & 25 minutes ok fine. I waited in my car for about 45 minutes, then proceeded to go inside because it was getting cold .. It was so many people inside the check in area so me and my boyfriend found a place to stand in. We stand there for about another hour and 25 minutes so in total we've waited 2hrs and 25mins. At this point my back and legs are aching, i've seen people come in and be seated before me & they've been waiting less time than me. Apparently their operation system is jacked up and unfair & customers are completely not taken in the order it was received. After endless waiting my boyfriend finally said something and we were told another 25 minutes, which was RIDICULOUS. After another 30/35 minutes of standing AGAIN we we're seated. Waitress was very nice, polite, and on time with everything. However, whoever the cook(s) was on Valentine's day 2/14/25 they need to be careful with people's food. I seen so many plates get sent back it's a shame! My chicken wasn't cooked throughout and i'm glad I wasn't so hungry from waiting almost 3 hours! I'm glad I checked my food before eating! They offered me another plate of food but, by time that had all happened my appetite was gone & I just got a to-go box. Didn't even bother to eat the food after, went right in the trash. I will not be returning to this location.

Had a great experience here. We were seated immediately n served complementary rolls. Fresh n hot, came with some cheese/butter I'm not sure but i loved it. Ordered a bone in rib eye and porterhouse t-bone. Both came with 2 sides. We chose mashed potatoes, sauted mushrooms n house salad. The waitress did a great job suggesting us to have the italian dressing for the salad, that they make in house. After placing the order i requested the waitress to change a side. Stuffed baked potato instead of mashed potatoes. I thought she would say no or its too late but guess what she said yes n served both. Checked on us a few times. The steaks were pretty decent according to the price. For the rib eye, my partner asked sauted mushrooms n onions toppings. And it was the best decision. It was juicy as hell. The t-bone seemed a bit dry for me but its fine cz its solid meat. Pairing it with mashed potatoes gives a kick. But i expected a greater quantity of my mushroom side. It came on a tiny bowl. Baked potatoes was good too nothing special. The atmosphere is nothing special, too busy but cozy. Lots of people as it was Sunday. I'll definitely come back sometime.

This meal was awful. Served was confused when I asked about what sauce comes on the smothered chicken. She said cheese and white gravy and the menu was wrong. Mac and cheese was gross soup. Chicken was weird too. Took my salad home and ate that. My husbands steak was decent. Tequila cocktail was pretty good.

AMAZING!!! They have the best food ever!! Service was outstanding, too. They have ipads to use while u wait for food, and u can order off them too. If you're a sports fan, this place is great too. They have tvs and posters of sports teams and college football. Their rolls are amazing, and I love how quick and kind everyone is. I would definitely come here agian.

I usually will drive an extra 20 minutes out of my way just to go to the Chesapeake Texas Roadhouse location because this location just always seems off. The rolls here are always dark brown and semi crunchy on the bottom. But, I decided to give it one last try while I was in the area. I sit at the bar and grab a drink, waiting for my partner to join. I see a table leaving behind me in the bar area. I go ask a hostess if I could have that booth. She said sure. My partner shows up 5 mins later and the booth is still dirty. I go let the hostesses know that the booth is still dirty and they just look at me like I have 5 eyes. Another one of those tiny booths pop up in the bar area and the waitress busses the dishes off, but no one wipes it. A hostess comes over and tries to seat me there but I want the booth I requested, the one I’ve been waiting over 5 minutes for. They seat a couple at the small, unwiped booth and table. I watch a bunch of hostesses just standing around the hostess stand. What happened to team work? Surely a hostess can help bus a table, right?? Finally, our table gets cleaned off and we sit down. I go back up to pick my steak out and ask every hostess that passes to help pick out my steak and two just walk past and ignore me. Our server was nice, thank goodness. However, our steak was terrible. I picked out a 16oz ribeye, cooked medium… the middle part was well done and the edges were rare/medium rare and it had no flavor. It tasted like it had been boiled in water. The steak was gray colored in the middle. We had to add salt and pepper, and we probably should’ve sent it back but we were so hungry, we just ate it. I travel all over the country for work and go to Texas roadhouses all over, and sadly this one needs a lot of help.
