I’ll still give it a 5/5 even though I had reservations at 7:15 and didn’t get seated til 8 PM… the food definitely made up for it. The mashed potatoes could’ve been more seasoned even if it was salt and pepper but overall it still exceeded my expectations… Salmon wasn’t overcooked, just right. Salad was fresh. Bread warm and flavorful.

What an amazing experience. Morgan, our server, was tremendous. The manager, Jeff, was outstanding and even walked us around the restaurant after eating the best meal of my life. Thank you so much for making our day and experience one to last a lifetime. We will be back again!

First I will say that this place is expensive... But! It was really really good! Three of us went for lunch on a Sunday and spent over $400. They bring you amazing fresh baked bread and water as soon as you sit down. We ordered 2 She Crab soup (must have!), 2 house wines (very good), 1 soda, 12 raw oysters (were huge and came with 4 huge shrimp) with bacon wrapped asparagus, Delmonico steak meal with steak fries and loaded baked potato, wyagu steak with brown marrow, lobster tail, bacon wrapped asparagus and loaded baked potato, and the tuxedo cake to go. The only issue we had was with the oysters. Everyone had a lot of shell pieces in them, so you had to be careful. Other than that, everything was absolutely amazing! Even my son was extremely satisfied with his steak! The wyagu was like butter! Both steaks had yummy crispy edges and cooked as ordered. I even liked the lobster tail which I am usually not a fan of. Waitress was great. No issues. We did receive a complimentary cheese cake for the shell issue. Overall would definitely recommend this place to someone looking for a good meal!

This place always hits! Celebrated my birthday here while visiting home. I ordered the pick 4, and she crab soup. The food is always amazing. It was my first time having the crab and shrimp, truffle mac & cheese. It was worth every penny!

Overall: 2 stars – Service was great, but the food fell short. My husband and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary, largely due to the glowing reviews we saw on Google. Unfortunately, while the service was lovely, the food did not meet my expectations given the price point of the establishment. Here’s a breakdown of our experience: Appetizers: Raw Oysters: We took a chance and ordered half a dozen raw oysters. Upon inspection, we discovered a small, live orange parasitic worm wiggling on one of the shells. We brought this to our waitress’s attention, and she promptly replaced the batch with a new one. Thankfully, the replacement was free of issues (we double-checked). Oysters Rockefeller: These were overwhelmingly salty—so much so that neither of us could eat more than one. It was as though we were eating a clump of pure salt. I wish I was exaggerating. Once again, we mentioned this to our waitress, who kindly replaced the dish with a much-improved batch. Crispy Calamari: No complaints here. It was cooked well and tasted like your standard plate of calamari. She Crab Soup: Absolutely delicious Main Entrées: I ordered the cowboy cut Delmonico steak—a bone-in, 20oz steak aged for 40 days—with sides of mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad. The steak was thick and massive, but when I cut into the center, it was clear it was severely undercooked. I had ordered it medium-rare, but the interior was so rare that my husband described it as “black and blue.” Worse, the center wasn’t even warm. I flagged this issue to our waitress, who sent it back to the kitchen to be cooked more. When it returned, the steak was slightly better but still not up to my standard. On a brighter note, the mashed potatoes and Caesar salad were both excellent. Overall Thoughts: The biggest disappointment was the lack of care in food preparation, particularly for a restaurant at this price point. For a steakhouse, the execution of the steak—a signature item—should be precise, but it wasn’t. The experience gave off a “quantity over quality” vibe. Service: The silver lining of the evening was the service, which was exceptional. Our waitress was kind, and empathetic to the issues we encountered. She graciously removed the Rockefeller oysters from our bill and even gave us an additional $20 off, unprompted. At the end of our meal, she asked if we were celebrating anything. While we were hesitant to mention our anniversary (given the evening’s disappointments), we eventually did. To our surprise, she brought us complimentary glasses of champagne and a slice of cheesecake with whipped cream, which was a sweet touch. The Next Day: We had plenty of leftovers—enough for a second dinner for the both of us—and my husband reheated the steak and mashed potatoes at home the next evening. Surprisingly, the steak tasted better after being baked in the oven than it did in the restaurant. Lol! Thanks for reading.

Aberdeen Barn in Virginia Beach offers a unique dining experience with its diverse event spaces and friendly, accommodating staff. However, the high prices do not align with the quality of the food. For instance, the Charcoal Broiled New York Strip is priced at $50, and the Broiled Jumbo Lobster Tail at $95, which seems excessive given the taste and presentation. While the ambiance is enjoyable, the value for money is lacking.

The place was more than beautiful. Atmosphere/ energy was great! The waitress was great besides getting a lil frustrated im thinking because he had so many guests to serve. The food wasn't all that amazing for the price, shrimp to be specific and I am a shrimp lover. All in all we had a great time for my brother's birthday

I can go on for days about this restaurant and the absolutely amazing people that work there but I’ll try to keep it short and to the point …. Never will you find a restaurant in Hampton Roads with a waiter better than Rich. My best friend and I went there for our birthdays on Sept 24th (his) and then again on the 27th (mine). Both times we had Rich as our waiter and he was beyond TOP TIER in every single way. Friendly, knowledgeable, funny, patient, attentive and just an overall example of what a waiter should be and so much more. I will ALWAYS make sure I have him every time I go so I pray they don’t let him get away ♥️ Tyler was amazing too; he came to our table to check on everything and make sure we were happy and of course we were and then we just chatted away like old high school friends catching up. Our food was absolutely delicious both times, the atmosphere was so relaxing and the live music was just the icing on my birthday cake 🎂 I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a nice place to celebrate a special occasion or just because you’re hungry and want some really delicious food. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
