Absolutely blown away by the level of service and the beautiful menu that they created for our holiday company dinner. To say we all felt it was one of the best meals we have ever had in Hampton Roads and I will put in the top 10 of my life would be an understatement. From the moment we reached out to inquire about hosting our event there the service level was amazing with prompt responses and then a true caring of some tough dietary restrictions for one of us. I would highly recommend eating at this restaurant, hosting an event or just having a cocktail (the cocktails were equally fantastic) and enjoying how wonderful the entire staff is. We will be back!

Harper's Table is a do-not-miss experience for anyone visiting Downtown Suffolk (or Hampton Roads, for that matter). Since opening its doors in 2012 (in the stylishly revitalized historic space downtown), Harper's has been our family's go-to restaurant for celebrating special occasions. Recently, my husband and I hosted a private dinner celebrating my sister's upcoming wedding at Harper's Table, and it was a party we (and our guests) will never forget! Harper and his team went above and beyond to plan the most exquisite, unique, bountiful and down-right delicious meal any of us could ever have dreamed up! Most impressively, Harper was able to thoughtfully craft dishes to accommodate one guest's very complex food allergy with precision and creativity. I can't recommend Harper's Table highly enough! Date night, dinner with friends, or -- for sure -- any private party/event that you want to be extra special. The atmosphere is fabulous, the service is top notch, and the food is out of this world! Lots of love in every bite :)

Made reservations. Food was very good. Fried oysters was light and fluffy, and they were also seasoned well. Flounder dish was amazing with nice presentation. The ribs weres ok. The stone grits was good as well. Appetizers came out quick. Main dishes took a while to come out, but I'm pretty sure they are made to order, which is a good thing. I definitely would return to this restaurant whenever I'm in suffolk.

Compared to a lot of other restaurants in Suffolk, this place is a breath of fresh air. Not only was our server Brandon one of the best servers I've ever had, but the food was amazing! We started off with a bottle of Malbec from Argentina, then placed our food orders. We ordered the Pork Belly Biscuit, my wife got the burger, and I had shrimp and grits. The biscuit was pretty darn delicious with thick pork belly and house-made strawberry jam. The wait for the food was a tad long, but worth it once we got it. Now, I haven't had grits in over 20 years, and boy have I been missing out. Everything about that dish was perfection. The shrimp was cooked properly (which is super easy to mess up) and their house-made andouille sausage was delicious. My wife's burger was undercooked, though. However, Brandon remedied that very quickly, and within about 5 minutes, she had a new burger cooked to her liking. It was a very good burger, well-seasoned, and the fries with mayo are also house-made. They also brought out this moist yet firm delectable cornbread. For dessert, we got the s'mores tart, which I'm not a fan of at the best of times, but oh man, we crushed it! All in all, this is the best dining experience we've had in Suffolk by far, and we will be returning. A couple of side notes: For my shrimp and grits, I had already dug in, so the picture does not reflect how they came out, but it still looks pretty darn good! I was hungry, couldn't help it. We didn't get a photo of the tart; we destroyed it. Also, mostly everything they make is in-house, which is super impressive and shows exactly the commitment they have to serving great quality food.

Perfect for a special date night! Every single thing we ordered was perfection.. it was such a comforting meal and it’s very obvious everything was fresh/homemade- quality ingredients. Definitely recommend!

The food and atmosphere at Harper’s Table come together to create a truly unforgettable dining experience, one that’s uniquely Downtown Suffolk. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an elevated meal, complete with distinctive flavors and expertly crafted beverages. While the prices are on the higher side, they’re well worth it as part of the exceptional experience.

2023 December 28th Food was disappointing today. Both my husband and I ordered a ribeye for main course. They were medium as requested but the outside was overly charred that they were bitter to taste. Also way too much salt. I think for something priced at $65, that was poorly done. It could have been executed better. We come here quite often and we started to see inconsistency here. Service was excellent and professional as usual. Update* We have been here multiple times. First time I was wowed. The following times were just meh. There were a few times I didn't like the service and the food that much. We decided to come here again Friday night and it was a win again. Service was much better, especially our waitress. I forgot her name but she was amazing. The cocktails were delicious however, I think maybe they could use a tad more alcohol in there. Appetizers and main courses were all amazing. Very well executed. My husband's ribeye was very flavorful and cooked to a perfect medium. We look forward to coming back here again soon. --------------------------------------------------------------------- I usually don't like dessert but their peach crumble with ice cream was yummy. Freshly made and not much added sugar in it. We were looking for a local place for our date nights. This place doesn't disappoint. Love the interior design and the vibe was warm and welcoming. Quiet but not too quiet. Lovely options on the menu. They also have a full bar. I was glad the menu was not filled with deep fried dishes. Hard to find a place that makes their food with fresh wholesome ingredients. Their warm olive was delicious. That was a excellent appetizer with drinks. I ordered shrimp and grits and that's pbly the best one I have ever had. My husband was very happy with his pork entree. Proteins and vegetables are all perfectly done. Well seasoned, so much flavor, aroma, not overly salted, and fresh. We will definitely be back again.
