The place and the atmosphere was beautiful, warm welcoming & great customer service. Food was very good and hot. The wait time was not long at all. Me and my father went there for breakfast. Can’t wait to most definitely go back for lunch a dinner. Overall I’d most definitely recommend this restaurant.

The menu had a variety of options 😋. I had smothered chicken on a bed of rice with greenbeans and onion rings for my sides. My boyfriend had 4 large chicken strips /brown gravy. Green beans and mashed potatoes for his sides. The drinks were tasty. Service was good. I will go again.

Just checked out the newest location of Papa Bear's that was merged with John Lillie's. Food was good, lots of options on the menu. Threw us off a little cause some items from the Papa Bear's menu was not on this one. I got the chicken flautas and they were good. Lots of food. My husband got the carne guisada.Would go back again and try something new.

We eat here often. We love their breakfast. The beef fajitas for 2 is very good. The steak is seasoned very good. Go, you'll be happy!!!!!

Never been to John Lillies, before now. A good friend of mine chose to go there for his birthday, so I figured I’d give it a shot. The Parking lot was full when I got there, so figured that to be a good sign. Atmosphere was good. Very friendly and attentive staff. The menu was way more than you would expect from a steakhouse. The appetizers, fried zucchini and brisket nachos, were amazing. I could have stopped there and been happy! Then the recommended huge chicken fried steak came out. It was good, with a thin crispy crust, like my wife likes. Had to ask for extra gravy, though. The lemon-raspberry cake served to the birthday boy made me wish I had saved some room. All-in-all an enjoyable experience that I will add to my once a month list.

The outside may look forgettable, but inside this local haunt is serving up scratch-made texas country classics in texas sized portions that your tastebuds won't forget. Imagine if Texas Roadhouse made good food, and that's the reality at Jon Lillies. Went on a Thursday for dinner. TL;DR is if you are in the mood for a Texas country dish like a loaded spud, ribs, or chicken fried steak, this is one of the best places to get it in Waco. **Pricing** You can get fancy, but you can also get a cheese burger with fries for $7.50, which is literally cheaper than Whataburger. **Food** Everything was spot-on with freshness, taste, and quality. **Ambiance** Pleasant and tasteful, but casual. Country chic is the best way to describe it. TIPS: Parking can be challenging and they say the bank tows, but there's a big lot to the side of the building next to wine shop.

On 2.17.2024....So I've heard about this place and drove by this place for about a year and lines waiting in the heat of summer. They got 1st place Margarita at 22nd Annual Waco Margarita and Salas Festival, should have gotten one since lunch cost $75, no alcohol, for 3 people. I got the 10 oz Ribeye and the ladies got Ribeye Fajitas. 2 waters and 1 coke. We got free hot sauce, which was good. Service was good, the atmosphere was nice and the food was mediocre. It's a maybe for a second visit.

Some of the best food in Waco. From Steaks (Best in Waco), to Mexican Food and lots in between. I actually love their Grilled Pork Chops. Great place to bring yourself or a group.
