Nice all-around option for wide selection of menu items. Family friendly, with a separate bar. Service was okay, food hot and quick. Good option for a sit-down traveler’s meal as opposed to fast food.

First time there. We should up just before 8 pm and didn't know they closed at 8 pm but they welcomed us inside to eat. Service was great. The food was good for the most part. No complaints about the chicken fried steak and the green beans. The salad was not bad but dressing options were limited. I would recommend this restaurant and will be going back.

What an awesome find. This quaint steakhouse has awesome quality food, top notch service and friendly staff. My ribeye was cooked perfect, rare-medium rare.

My favorite place when I am in Waco. I found a new favorite menu item - chicken fried chicken. Highly recommend!

Staying at Waco Surf, this is a must stop for southern comfort food. The best sweet tea, country fried steak, huge side of fried okra and a decent garden salad all for reasonable price. The atmosphere has animals on the wall and you definitely get the small town tavern charm.

Ordered medium Received medium well. Very tough. My mom’s was better. Potato was great. Green beans ok. Nice place. Service was what u expect at a small town steakhouse. Ok. I wait tables so maybe I have different expectations. Did not get rolls till much later, mid meal because manager asked. Lol. It’s ok. Probably won’t go again

Lone Star Tavern and Steakhouse & Catering is located on Bellmead Dr, right off Hwy 31 W. We've been to Lone Star Tavern and Steakhouse & Catering once before while passing through Waco and made it a point to stop in again on another trip through Waco. Ordering is really simple, from a large paper menu just circle the item's you'd like, that's it, that simple. And there's a reason their Waco's oldest steakhouse, the food is really good. This trip, our group ordered a couple Lonestar steaks, which is a 7 ounce Akaushi sirloin, with ranch style beans and a baked potato, chicken fried steak and chicken tender meal with fries. The steak was soo juicky and full of soo much flavor. And both the chicken fried steak and chicken tenders were cooked perfectly as well. Our server was very friendly and attentive. They have some cool wall hangings that are cool to look at. Come on in if you haven't yet, I'll be back the next time I'm passing through Waco again.

We were looking for a place for our Anniversary and chose to try the oldest steakhouse in Waco. We had an amazing waitress Sydney who was so helpful and gave us great recommendations. We had the Ribeye for 2 which is two 10 oz ribeyes with salad and sides for two for $35 with two rolls. It is a lot of food for the price. The steaks were so tender and flavorful. You would not be disappointed with the food. The staff were so much fun. Especially Joni who was a sweetheart. We did try the brownie and it was okay. A little dry and a little burnt but that does not take away from the meal. Definitely a locals hangout and definitely worth checking out. You will love it 😀
