Customer Review Summary
Reata Restaurant offers a visually appealing setting with an inviting menu. Service experiences vary, with some praising staff for attentiveness and friendliness, while others report slow and incompetent service. Food quality is inconsistent; while some dishes like the Carne Asada and Chicken Tortilla Soup receive high praise, others such as the Jalapeño Cilantro Crusted Red Fish leave diners disappointed. The new location is seen as a downgrade in atmosphere compared to the previous space in Sundance Square, with criticism directed at its crowded layout. The restaurant remains popular among tourists and some locals, although many suggest exploring alternative options for a more authentic Tex-Mex experience. Overall, the food and service can be hit or miss, leading to mixed reviews about returning.

A feast for the eyes and the taste. Me and friends, family stopped in a lunch at the bar. That was a great was a great start to the day. A beautiful dark wood finish to the room. An inviting menu. On your next visit to the great Ft Worth. Stop in to the Reata for a 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ experience.

This last week was our first visit to Reata since the move to their new location. For the food, our party found things to be hit and miss as far as overall quality. As for the location, it is a real letdown and step down from the wonderful and creative space they had on Sundance Square. Service was spotty to poor. First the food. Started with drinks. The Texas 75 was very popular with the ladies in our group. I had the Fort Worth Old Fashion and it was the best Old Fashion I have ever had. I don’t know why but it was. I had a cup of the Jalapeno Cilantro soup to start. To tell the truth, I could not tell that there was either jalapeno or cilantro in it. It was just this thick, almost gravy, greenish liquid with little to no flavor. My wife had the Field Greens with Texas Goat Cheese, San Saba Pecans. The greens were fresh and plentiful, loads of pecans. But the goat cheese was barely noticeable, not at all what salads like that should be. So give it a B- at best for starters. After appetizers, I ordered a glass of wine to accompany my entre. Our server said he would bring it right away. It came just at about the time the entrées had been finished and plates cleared. For main courses, my wife had the Tenderloin Tamales. There are three of them and they are very large and extremely good. She could only finish one of them, so the other two were packed up and taken home for dinner for both of us the next night. A+. I had the Jalapeño Cilantro Crusted Texas Red Fish. Again, perhaps they forgot to put any jalapeno or cilantro in it, because neither flavor was there. But, worst of all is that the redfish was way way way overcooked, to the point where it lost flavor of any kind. If we were not going to the theatre after and had more time, I would have sent it back. D- Of the others in our party, by far the best dish looked to be the Carne Asada topped with Reata's Cheese Enchiladas. Because things were a bit slow, we had no time for dessert. Plus, our server took a good 15 minutes between taking credit cards and finally getting them back for signing. One other comment on service, our waiter began by taking all of our orders, then 10 minutes later he came back and said he had lost the paper he had written on, so could we all order again. So, service throughout was somewhere between incompetent, lazy and slow. Now the décor. The old location was creative, expansive, varied by location and not crowded or jammed in. This new space is much much smaller, pretty much exchangeable in terms of look and feel with any ordinary western theme steakhouse. And, we felt the tables were really jammed together, perhaps compensating for how small it is compared to the Sundance Square location. All of this said, I can’t see myself ever returning when there are so many better restaurants at this price range within a few blocks in downtown Fort Worth.

My daughter was finishing her MBA, and we had decided to celebrate as a family and ask for a room at the Reata restaurant so that our family could come and celebrate my daughter’s MBA. The weight staff was unbelievably helpful and kind and waited on us, implicitly and on point and we were very very impressed with her attention to detail I recommend the Reata to anybody who wants a wonderful meal a wonderful atmosphere wonderful service.

I had the jalapeño and cilantro red fish with rice and veggies. It was very well served. I enjoyed the red fish immensely.

Service: 5 stars Food Quality: 3 stars Atmosphere: Cliche We've been going to Reata for 25 years, and this recent trip was a little bit of a disappointment in the food quality. It's as if they are buying commodity food from a Ben E. KEITH or something like that and passing it off as high-end. The service, on the other hand, was top-notch. Friendly, informative, and a true Fort Worth spirit. It's great if you're a tourist and you don't know any better, but if you're a local, go to Los Asaserdo's or Benito's if you really want a genuine experience. And, I promise you, the cooks and the dishwashers in the back would agree. Leave this place to the out of town tourist and hit up some REAL Tex-Mex cuisine in Northside or Magnolia. If you know, you know. Oh yeah, I must say, the Chicken tortilla soup was a 10/10. They have perfected that stock...nicely done!

First of all, Carae is an amazing server and was such a joy to have. Very knowledgeable about the menu and also about Fort Worth. Very helpful. Secondly, the food is AMAZING!! Our first time being here and it is so good. We did the sampler so we could try several things. They were all delicious. The grits are so good, that we got them with our entree of the carne asada and enchiladas. Such a great dish. Definitely recommend. Huge portions. Well worth the money. We split the asada/enchiladas and still brought it home.

We came to Reata while in town on spring break. We booked a reservation for 6, but decided to go early. The table was ready when we arrived, but we went to the rooftop bar for one drink first. It was fun and a great view! We then were seated right away. The waiter Brandon knew was knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant’s favorites. My husband got the carne asada and I got the citrus chicken - both so yummy! Oh and actually can’t forget about the biscuits and cornbread they brought out first - amazing! Then for dessert we were shown all the options and given explanations. We went with the dessert tacos which were fabulous. And overall we spent just under $100 so not too shabby! Definitely recommend!

Great food and service. Their portion sizes are incredibly generous. I recommend going to this restaurant if you want to feel you got your dollar's worth for the price you paid for the food and service. I'll definitely visit again given the opportunity.
