Bonnell's Fine Texas Cuisine

Called last minute to ask if reservations were required and was told they are not but rather recommended. They made a reservation for us and had the table ready for us when we arrived. All within 15 minutes! Sheila, our server, was amazing! She had great recommendations and provided the best service. We had the Elk Back Strap, Buffalo, and they gave us dessert complimentary as we were celebrating our anniversary! The drinks we had were amazing, I don't remember the names, and they aren't listed on the website, but we were told it changes frequently.

Outstanding experience! The food was by far one of the best dinners I’ve had in my life. The service was excellent. I highly recommend the red fish. Cooked to perfection! The atmosphere was relaxed and not stuffy! The servers and wait staff were all very attentive - our drinks never went empty! Highly recommend going here!

One of my two favorite restaurants in Fort Worth this one is for Texas cuisine the other is Waters downtown for seafood. I had the bison filet that couldn't be better tender perfectly cooked and the change to the menus are very very welcome. I don't know about background music but that's something I would like to hear while I'm eating, nice peaceful enjoyable music but maybe chef Bonnell doesn't want to do that and that's fine. You can't get a better meal than Bonnell's! One of the photos has my late wife in it on her last birthday in 2021. If you decide to eat here don’t order the pork tomahawk. It was served burnt with a lot of fat attached to a long bone with very little meat. The lighting is dark and it was very hard to differentiate between fat and actual meat. It Definitely was not worth the $60. The fried quail legs as an appetizer were amazing though and I sampled some of my wife’s buffalo filet which was also awesome.

When we walked in, we were greeted very warmly by Morgan and congratulated on our special occasion. We were seated and allowed to choose where we were most comfortable. The tables are cute and had a nice ambiance although the layout was a bit unusual. Jolene was our server throughout the night and was an absolute pleasure! She never let our glasses empty and had a great table side manner!! We had the Oysters Texafeller as our appetizer to share and we were pleasantly blown away!! The flavor was just delectable! The food was beautifully plated and the smokey flavor was out of this world! I ordered the Red Wine Braised Brisket while my spouse ordered the Elk Back Strap. For desert, we ordered the Tres Leches Creme Brule! And they gave us complimentary chocolate truffles to celebrate our Anniversary!! ❤❤ Overall one of the best Celebratory dinners I've ever experienced!!
