Customer Review Summary

Nagasaki Inn has been a longstanding favorite in Memphis for 50 years. The food is excellent, reasonably priced, and the bar is enjoyable. Many reviewers appreciate the nostalgic feel and friendly service at the hibachi tables. Sushi rolls, hibachi chicken, and steak were praised for their freshness and taste, particularly the flavorful sauces. Reservations are advised, especially on weekends, and the egg rolls received positive mentions as well.

This place has literally been a staple in Memphis since I was a kid, 50 years and going strong. Food was excellent, reasonably priced and the bar was actually quite good. Enjoyed a wonderful Kirin with my meal! Some people might question the area it's located in, but trust me, this is a safe place and you'll be glad you went.

I haven’t been here in years and it’s still as nostalgic as I remember. I was the first and only one in there and was seated the back immediately at a hibachi table. What looked like the owner or manager quickly brought me water. I decided to start with 2 sushi rolls Salmon skin roll KamkaziI roll Both were really tasty. And tasted fresh. I got the hibachi chicken and steak and babyyy those sauces that came with them. 🔥🔥🔥 Everything was so good and the chef was so friendly. Since I was the only one at the table we had a great conversation. I actually forgot why I stopped coming here but this will def be my go to hibachi spot now.

I had a disappointing experience during my first visit to this restaurant. I placed a mobile order for two steak hibachi meals to go, but upon arrival, I was told that only one had been ordered. The older gentleman assisting us was extremely rude and dismissive, insisting that I was mistaken rather than offering a solution. It wasn’t until I looked at my husband in disbelief that he finally offered to make another one. However, due to the poor customer service we received, my husband and I decided to leave. Additionally, based on the tone and treatment we received, I strongly believe that our race played a factor in how we were treated. Unfortunately, this first impression was enough to ensure that we will not be returning.

I went for the first time in it’s my family last night. Both the service and food were AWESOME. We arrived when the restaurant first opened at 5pm on a weekday, and got a hibachi table immediately with some of the other guests. The staff were very nice, and the food tasted good. Our chef just absolutely *made* the experience. I grew up in Memphis, TN, and I can’t believe that I’m only learning about this place now. We enjoyed everything, and we definitely plan to return 👍🏻 Footnote: we tried the egg rolls as an appetizer, and they were a pleasant surprise for us. They’re sausage-meat based, and very tasty; my family liked the sauce that goes with them. Overall, just a good experience!

Been my favorite place ever since I was a kid. "magic Mike" is the best. I celebrated my birthday there tonight (as I have been for as long as I can remember) and it was a blast as always. the food was fantastic.

Excellent Japanese hibachi restaurant, and the oldest one in the city of Memphis! Geographically centered in the middle of the city, this restaurant is very convenient for most Memphians to access and delivers on food and atmosphere! In addition, reservations are recommended -particularly on weekends! Highly recommended!

Such a great place for a special occasion like a birthday, or just because! The service and the food are always wonderful. My niece and nephew say it is their favorite! Very affordable and a fun experience.

Trio combo hibachi was amazing. They handled our last minute birthday party, no problem. Still a great place to eat.
