We spent New Years Eve here and enjoyed a fabulous dinner! Our waitress was attentive and very sweet! We sat close to the kitchen and enjoyed watching the chef work! Everything we ordered was spot on! Presentation was fabulous! If you want a memorable dining experience with good food give them a try! We had our kiddo and while there wasn’t much on the menu, he really enjoyed the biscuits and jam! So much so that he didn’t share! lol!

Overall, it's just a great little spot downtown with excellent service, atmosphere, food, and drinks. We did not sit for a formal dinner but sat with a couple of friends at the small tables by the bar. Tried a few of their appetizers; sweet potato tempura, octopus salad and a shrimp salad. All very delicious. Tried a Cosmopolitan and and Old Fashined (with a Chris Stapleton whiskey). Great drinks. Their service was superb with very attentive staff. We will definitely be back.

It was my birthday and we were greeted by Jessica when we walked in she was extremely nice. There were 6 of us so we sat in the lounge because I didn't know how many more people would pop up for me. The wait staff was great. The coffee black old fashion was awesome, I had the burger, and chocolate cake. All amazing. Everyone loved the cake. Great ending to a great birthday.

We went here for a date night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The lobster bisque and gulf prawn salad were amazing! My husband enjoyed the monkfish and I loved the bucatini. Now, this carrot cake they have is the best I’ve ever had! The ambiance is so cozy and we felt so welcomed. They gave us some sweet treats to take with us before we left. We will be back!

VERY ATTENTIVE TO CUSTOMERS! Came here to celebrate my birthday and they went above and beyond to make me feel special! They were also very knowledgeable about what items were gluten-free and ensuring that everything I ate was safe for me. My party of 3 thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. It is definitely a “splurge” dinner place and is also not a quick sit down dinner, but it is so worth the time & money! Highly recommend for your next nice dinner!

We went to Amelia Gene’s to celebrate our anniversary. This establishment is beautiful inside! Clean and spacious and the staff dressed to impress! They certainly did impress us. They were professional and very good at their respective jobs while working together collectively as a team to make sure each guest was well taken care of even beyond the food. This impeccable service is very rare these days! My husband and I shared each dish as they are all a shareable portion size which made our dining experience that much better. The biscuits were wonderfully crispy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. The cheese cart has so many special cheeses it was hard to decide which ones to try. The oysters 🦪 were some of the best we have had! The tuna tartar was super fresh and such a nice treat with a great blend of texture and flavor. We also had the lobster bisque and it was devine, the popover served with it was a perfect addition! Lastly, as our entree we had the scallops and my goodness they were delightful! Husband typically doesn’t like scallops but these…these scallops were such a surprise I won’t describe there here, you will have to go and order them for yourself! Trust me on this, you will be won over with this dish just as he was! I just wish we had room for dessert!! Rumor is the carrot cake is a must and we almost went the next evening of our trip just to try the carrot cake 🥕 since we were thoroughly impressed the first night. If we ever make it back to Memphis we will for sure dine here again. If you are looking for a very lovely and delicious dining experience I highly encourage you to visit this place.

This was my first visit to Amelia Gene’s Restaurant in Downtown Memphis, Tennessee. It was a fabulous find that I came across on OpenTable. The atmosphere and aesthetic was charming and warm and outfitted in an old manufacturing plant. They did a fabulous job of integrating the restaurant into the historical space. My server, Makyla, was very knowledgeable about the menu and had a thorough knowledge of the menu. She was warm yet professional. She made me feel relaxed and comfortable. She didn’t miss a beat through the entire dinner. Samantha, the sommelier extraordinaire, spoke to me about some of their wine offerings. She was very knowledgeable about wines and pairings. When it came time for dessert, I inquired as to whether or not they had any Hungarian wines. She said she did not think so, but ended up finding the last glass of Royal Tokaji, Late Harvest Hungarian Wine. My dinner began withn Amuse-bouche, chefs gift, a root vegetable soup that was intensely flavorful. I started with an unusual preparation of raw Blackberry Oysters (2), with Cauliflower Soubise, Pickled Cucumber, Bay Leaf. Available year-round, the Blackberry® is raised in bottom cages inshore of Blackberry Hang Oyster Reef in the Chesapeake Bay. Black Sea Bass, White Onion Puree, Caramelized Onions, Brown Butter, with Petals of Brussels Sprouts I enjoyed a glass of this fruit forward and delicious 2023 Domaine de Servans, Côtes du Rhône, Grenache/Syrah, Rhone Valley, France. It paired well with my oysters as well as the brown butter of the Black Sea Bass. Moriah, the dessert elf, came by and did her best to tempt me with an amazing variety of dessert offerings that they had. I decided to stay with a liquid dessert as I had already eaten quite a bit. I enjoyed the last glass they had available of a 2017 ROYAL TOKAJI Aszú 5 Puttonyos, Late Harvest Hungarian Wine. That was my drinkable dessert. I got to visit this region in Hungary five years ago and it is something I will never forget. Intense nose with lots of fruitiness and spice. Great structure and vibrant freshness with flavours of white peach and ripe plums, a perfect balance of richness, crisp acidity and a long finish. Summer was hot, so we began the Aszú berry harvest in early September and continued to pick steadily in the ideal autumn weather. In particular, October provided three textbook weeks for fine quality Aszú, with day after day of early morning mists, afternoon sunshine and drying winds. The Aszú wines show great structure, plenty of botrytis, depth and freshness with excellent complexity, all attributes of long ageing potential. My experience at Amelia Gene’s was above expectations. The food was delicious and artfully presented. The staff was professional and friendly. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. The combination of everything made for an unforgettable dining experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting the Memphis area. My hat is off to the staff at Amelia Gene’s! #foodporn #gourmetfood #Memphis #finedining #travelblogger #solotravel #wine
