Customer Review Summary
The Blacksmith Restaurant received mixed reviews from diners. Many praised the atmosphere, describing it as classy yet comfortable, and highlighted the attentive service. Dishes like crab corn dogs, salmon filet, shrimp pasta, and cocktails were particularly well-received, and some guests considered it a must-try location in Bend. However, there were significant criticisms regarding the quality of the meat, with some diners feeling that the steaks and ribs did not meet their expectations for the price. In particular, issues were raised about cooking temperatures and tenderness, leading to disappointment for several guests. While most reviewers noted friendly staff and a welcoming environment, some felt that the overall experience did not align with the higher-end pricing. Overall, the restaurant has potential but might struggle with consistency in food quality.

Mr Jay
It was my girlfriend’s birthday and we were in Bend for a beautiful and wonderful weekend getaway. I researched steakhouses and I chose the Blacksmith for birthday dinner. When walking into the restaurant you are instantly greeted and it feels like you are in a very classy restaurant but not too classy… The decor is very steakhouse setting, high chairs, white cloths, was perfect. We ordered an appetizer, we both had steaks which grilled to perfection. My girl and I each had drinks that were mixed amazingly. We are both foodies, we love going to steakhouses for special occasions or just whenever we travel, both of us agreed that Blacksmith was one of our top 5 that we have been to. So I (we) definitely would recommend this to anyone traveling or visiting Bend and I for sure would go back when I am in town and have the time… Thank you for an amazing dining experience

We had a wonderful birthday dinner at the Blacksmith. Started out with the crab corn dogs, what a tasty surprise. We followed them with a salmon filet and shrimp pasta, both were excellent. Finished the evening with the bread pudding, highly recommend getting it with the bacon crumbles. Our server Austin was great and the entire staff was friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back, next time to try one of the steak options.

Best comparison I can make is a Texas Roadhouse with steakhouse prices. I looked at a few steakhouses in the area as an out of towner and this popped up and had overwhelmingly great reviews. Unfortunately the chefs nor bartenders make good food or drinks. Also partly my fault, we asked and were told that all the cuts of beef are USDA Choice (something you’d get at an all you can eat place), but charging $60+ per pound. So it’s not a steakhouse but the expectations were in line with the prices. Half the meat was also more medium well/well done (ordered medium rare) and tough. Bartender also does not know how to make a whiskey sour, or I suppose what it should at least look like. Looked to book for Valentine’s Day but I’m glad we couldn’t get a table and ate elsewhere. The place is popular somehow so I guess they can get away with charging these prices for the quality of food and chefs that they have, but I won’t recommend to friends. Staff was friendly though, no complaints there, though service is more in line with bar and grill type restaurant and not steakhouse. Likely it was a mismatch of expectations leading to this review, but regardless of price, the food was not good Tell the chef to add butter and whipping cream to mashed potato’s lol these were god awful

Good Welcoming workers. Greeting us with warm acknowledgement. Food tasted good. I can back again. I feel it should be a semi formal to form wear. This place is really nice and fancy. For my opinion.

Food, atmosphere, cocktails and service were stellar! Best night out in ages, this restaurant is a must try! Flavors were on point and the cook on proteins perfection.

After searching the area for a banana Foster dessert I finally found one and will be back often for more.

Six of us went here, and three of us ended up disappointed in our meat. If you're going to spend that much money that meat better melt in your mouth. Unfortunately did not! Most disappointing was my dish. I ordered ribs, due to no pork chops on the menu and they were so dry. I had two other people at my table try them to make sure it wasn't just me, sent it back. The cocktails were great though and the bar was fun!

Great dinner night with the wife. It was one of the best meals I've had in a while. Cocktails were also spot on.
