I had the pleasure of dining here recently, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the expertly crafted cocktails to the impeccable service, this restaurant truly delivers. The drinks menu is impressive, but the Old Fashioned and Sparkling Paloma are absolute standouts. The bartender's attention to detail and skillful mixing elevate these classics to new heights. For my meal, I opted for the French Dip sandwich and a side of Mac and cheese. Both dishes were outstanding, with the meat in the sandwich cooked to perfection. The Mac and cheese was creamy and rich, providing a delightful contrast to the savory sandwich. Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided exceptional service throughout our meal. She ensured that every need was met and every question was answered. Overall, I highly recommend J. Alexanders for a sophisticated dining experience. With its exceptional cocktails, delicious cuisine, and outstanding service, this restaurant is sure to impress even the most discerning palates.

We went Sunday evening for dinner. We were immediately set at our table, we had a reservation. The hostess was friendly & welcoming. Upon entry, it was an open concept. The bar was to the left, infront was the kitchen & the seating area to the right. The restaurant is beautiful & elegant. Our waitress, Ashly attended to us quickly taking our drink order. She answered our menu questions & took our order. We had the NY strip which came with MAC & cheese (you can switch the side) & the Baby back ribs which came with fries & coleslaw. The NY strip was cooked perfectly (medium) & very tasty. There was no special seasoning, just the seared grilled flavor. The Mac & cheese were fantastic. It had such a yummy unique flavor I asked the waitress what cheese was this made with (Gruyère & Parmesan). The baby back ribs were so tender the meat was falling off the bone. The barbecue sauce was thick & sweet. The coleslaw was finely shredded & a creamy mayonnaise base. The French fries were shoestring style & nothing unique

Wow! This place was impeccable!! This is the first time eating out where the bill was 3 digits for 2 people. My boyfriend treated us to this place that he had heard great things about, but I had never heard of it. First, we did not make a reservation, though we probably should have. We arrived at about 6:45 pm on a Saturday night. Google says up to a 15-minute wait, but we ended up waiting 50 minutes. The food made up for it, though! This place was packed to the brim with lots of reservations coming in as well as large parties of 10 people. We got a booth in the back next to the window, and it was nice and felt private. The tables aren't super close together, which was great. The mood is romantic with dim lighting and a candle on each table. We ordered the deviled eggs for an appetiter. I'm usually not a fan of deviled eggs, but these were actually really good! For our entrées, I ordered the baby back ribs with fries and a loaded baked potato as well as an Alex's salad to go along with it. He ordered the chicken platter with fries, red smashed potatoes, and another Alex's salad. The eggs came out fairly quickly, and shortly after we finished those, our salads arrived. These salads are surprisingly big! These are the best croutons I have ever tasted. Wow, I'd order another salad just for the croutons! We each ended up taking some salad home since we received our food quickly after getting the salads. Of course, we had to prioritize our hot meals over the salad. We actually shared both of our entrées between us. The rib with fall-off-the-bone and absolutely delicious. The chicken tenders were really good. I really enjoyed the ranch, and he really liked the honey dijon. The baked potato was a really big potato, nicely loaded. The fries were really tasty. They're small but flavorful. The portions are large! You get what you pay for, honestly. We had no complaints about our food at all. For dessert, we split the chocolate cake and ice cream there while taking a piece of carrot cake to go. The chocolate cake was rich and delicious. It came out warm and melted in your mouth! It's almost like a pudding cake. Very soft and delightful. It paired great with the vanilla ice cream. We ate a bite of the carrot cake once we got home, but we were so stuffed that the rest is being saved for the next day! It is good! I expected cream cheese icing, but I think it's a vanilla icing. Chunks of carrot and raisins throughout. It's a good size square! All in all is was a great experience and a very nice date. It's probably the nicest restaurant I've been to (We don't make much money). The total ended up being $111 before gratuity. We both just drank water so expect more if you are planning on drinking. It's definitely worth the trip! We had a very nice and attentive server too. I think the only complaint we have is the 2 parties that loudly sang happy birthday (the extended version cause it went on forever). Kinda killed the vibe of the place so I wish they didn't do that.

I celebrated my 40th birthday here with my family and it was unforgettable! Our service was impeccable as always, food was flavorful, perfectly cooked and I felt like the Queen I am. The manager was able to accommodate my ENTIRE Party in one area, and gave us the treatment I am accustomed to when dining here on a date night! They kept my cake (which was a surprise) cool without issue, and made it truly a night to remember! My meal was the delicious steak Maui, cooked medium, which I must say has the best sear (every. single. time) and marbling I've ever seen... and the experience is consistent. We've been dining here for YEARS and every time it is great. My husband did a great job with this birthday, and even a teen and 7 year old were impressed.

Superb evening. Dark cozy restaurant tgat was very romantic. Not conducive for kids IMO. Food was killer good. The filet cooked perfectly to the requested medium temperature. Huge baked potatoes cooked perfectly. I had a Thai salad with Asian dressing and peanut sauce and loved it. I ordered the side version without the chicken on the Thai salad. For desert, I had the largest homemade key lime pie I've ever seen, and it's not your normal 1 in thick slice, more like 3 inches with a homemade thick graham cracker crust. Also had a chocolate bundt cake covered in chocolate sauce with ice cream. Was a great evening.

Always love dining here! A romantic restaurant perfect for date night or adult time with the girls or the fellas for a good meal and cocktails. The delicious portions are well worth the money spent! We didn't finish and took the rest home. I took my mom this time for a "date".

I love their Alex’s salad with chicken! I’ve ordered to-go many times without issue, however, this last time they forgot both of my dressings. I called as soon as I realized, but the manager didn’t really offer much. She asked what “I’d like them to do” without offering a solution. As a customer, it’s disappointing that they cannot take initiation and make it right. It’s a $22 salad for goodness sakes, at least offer a voucher for next time or something. It’s not like everyone has dressing at home! I ended up eating it naked. At the end of the day it’s really not about the money. It would have just been nice to feel prioritized as a customer. I’m not sure I’ll be returning after this incident.

I love the atmosphere, it’s elegant but with the door opening and closing that made it chili and that’s why I gave the 4 stars. The wait staff was excellent. Swift, patient, knowledgeable, all stepped in and helped, truly satisfied with the service! The food was exquisite!!! I had the baked chicken and baked potato and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection!!!! I only gave 4 stars because for me I feel the menu is limited with choices I like. The person I was with raved about the trout, couscous, and Brussels sprouts! This was a special night, special event, and j Alexander felt just as special!!!
