About Council Oak Steaks & Seafood - steak house in Cincinnati, Ohio
Customer Review Summary
Council Oak Steaks & Seafood offers a lively dining experience with delicious food and excellent service, though the atmosphere can be loud due to its location in the Hard Rock Casino. First-time visitors enjoyed their Valentine's Day dinner, noting prompt seating and attentive staff, though some felt the food lacked the finer details expected at similar price points. Many patrons praised the service, highlighting specific servers by name for their exceptional attentiveness, which positively impacted the overall experience. While some dishes, like the wagyu meatball and seafood tower, received mixed reviews regarding preparation and flavor, other menu items like steaks and appetizers were well-received. However, a few diners expressed disappointment over certain dishes being overcooked or not meeting expectations, particularly considering the overall cost of the meal. Despite some critiques, guests recommended trying the restaurant to see how personal experiences may differ, and many indicated they would return for future visits.

Is our first time ever going to this Steak & Seafood restaurant. It’s a Valentine’s Day surprise Dinner with my Husband. Food is delicious, excellent service little loud but it’s understandable because it’s in the Hard Rock Casino. Definitely worth it and will be going for dinner again.

Council Oak is in the Hard Rock Casino but is easily accessible. My Uber dropped us off by the front door and picked us up in the exact same spot. We were greeted upon arrival and were seated promptly as we did have a reservation. Service was well done from start to finish, and we had a manager stop by about halfway through the meal. It is loud inside, so do not expect an intimate meal. Lighting is great, but the ceiling is high and does not give off a cozy vibe. Others may love this, but it could be a detractor for some. Our food was well prepared but lacked the attention to detail on all servings you would get at "The Capital Grill" or "Flemmings." It's not that the food was not good it's just not up to the level for the same price point. Additionally, our portion size was large on the appetizer, small on salad, small on my lamb chop main course, and large on desert. My wife's chicken portion was huge, which was fantastic. All in all it a solid B to B+, and I would suggest you try it to see for yourself as your opinion and experience may be different.

Sat in the bar on a Saturday and our server duo of Katy and Travis were absolutely phenomenal. The food was excellent, but the service made the biggest impact. Management also came by and checked in on our experience. Could not say more great things about the service here.

Absolutely WONDERFUL experience!! Every year, my siblings and their significant others get together to go to a dinner around the holidays. With them both living out of state, we don't get to do this often so we enjoy it when we can. This year we chose Council Oak for our dinner, and it did not disappoint! The drinks were phenomenal, the appetizers and soups were delicious, our steaks were prepared perfectly and the desert was fantastic! My wife and I will definitely be back! One of the best restaurant experiences I've had in the Cincinnati area!

The atmosphere was nice here. I liked watching the cooks. Our server was nice. Food: The wagyu meatball was so dry. Neither of us liked it. The marinara sauce was good in it though. The grilled bread was too hard to chew almost unless you dunked it in the marinara we had with the meatball. The honestly true star of the meal was the bread we got at the beginning. It was salty but in the right way and soft. My dining partner got the seafood tower. He said the oysters were the best part of it. The crab legs were big but very salty as they were sitting in a bath of butter at the bottom of the pan. We tried to drain them but still so salty. The shrimp and scallops were better. The price wasn’t awful for the tower and the amount of seafood included.

I went here for a birthday celebration and the atmosphere was really nice. Our server Tasha was amazing and very attentive. The only complaint I had was that the food could've been warmer than what it was.... The carrots and mash potatoes were delicious and beef rib ( if I'm correct)was breath taking....

We love the Council Oaks in Tampa so we decided to give this one a try. Well the NY strip was EXTREMELY chewy and our entire bill was $422.00 so we figured when we mentioned the poor quality to the server he would possibky offer something to be courteous but just apologized even after seeing that only a few pieces were eaten from it when he picked up the plates. No offer for a discount or maybe a free dessert just NOTHING. So $71 for a steak that was not eaten. Then he also seemed to rush us when collecting the dinnerware. He grabbed a few empty appetizer plates and as I was taking my last bites of soup I noticed him standing there waiting for me so I felt rushed. Our main server Karla was AMAZING however and she made the experience better. I also did not like my seafood meal, scallops were chewy amd the Rockefeller oysters were too loaded with ingredients that really stole the usual flavor from it. Just overall disappointed with the food for over $100 a person.
