Customer Review Summary
The Distillery Restaurant Mt. Hope has a nice atmosphere and decent prices. However, many diners found the food lacking in flavor, with dishes like the hamburger and hot honey chicken sandwich disappointing. Service was a recurring issue, with slow wait times and some staff showing attitude. On the positive side, the wings received praise, and certain dishes like the pulled pork had good flavor. A few guests experienced unsettling situations, including a noisy kitchen fight that made them uncomfortable enough to leave without eating. Overall, while some customers enjoyed their experiences, others expressed disappointment and a lack of consistency in food quality and service.

Nice place, decent food and price is is good! However I was expecting more flavourful food as they are awarded for some of their dishes. I order the hamburger with avocado and bacon, and I couldn’t taste much the avocado or the bacon. It was a Sunday afternoon so maybe that the contributor. Their wings are good! 😊 we really enjoyed them, and my husband ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich and he liked it. I will come back however to try their steak and other flavour of chicken wings.

We came on a Thursday night, the vibe is really good. The service is really slow, it took almost 45 minutes for our food to come and water wasn’t served. Our server Tess was really nice and helpful. The ghost wings were really spicy so try them with caution. And the dessert is to die for.

Just left with my husband, we saw the waitress 3 times exactly during the whole dinner. The chicken was very grissly and I ended up giving most of it to my husband. Very small amount of fries too, for $16 I expected a better portion. When we did see the waitress she had an attitude and you could tell she was annoyed or maybe just wanted to go home. Still tipped her good though, so I hope she appreciates us coming in a bit. Will not be back.

Food wasn't great. The hot honey chicken sandwich wasn't really like true hot honey. The breading slid off and was a mess to eat. Low quality chicken and burgers. The mac and cheese skillet wasn't anything special either. This place used to have great food. Very disappointed. Another place to cross off the list of places that are constantly good.

Been a while since I've been to the Mt Hope Distillery and will likely be a long time before I go back. Ordered wings as an appetizer well before we ordered our meals. I asked the server to bring them out before the meals...she did, by about 90 seconds. The reason they arrived as they did...so many online orders, they got backed up. Good to know in house guests are less important. Food was just ok. Not what I remember.

I feel somewhat bad about this review as we didn’t even have the food and our server was super nice. However, there was an incredibly loud (and scary) fight in the kitchen and we were sitting right next to the kitchen door. We also have a one year old who was with us. Our server was scrambling, there’s seemed to be more disruptive noises from the kitchen, and also a staff member who came from the kitchen, with a napkin over his face (as if he was bleeding). We honestly did not at all feel comfortable sitting there any longer. At all. So we left some cash for her and left the restaurant as our server didn’t seem to have the opportunity to come by again (appeared servers were now covering the kitchen). When we were walking out, there wasn’t a staff person in sight so I again could not tell anyone “hey, we’re leaving because this does not feel safe”. I called because I felt bad leaving and wanted our server to know why. The fella who answered the phone seemed nice, however there was not even a “hey, I’m so sorry”. Long story long, it was definitely a stressful and non-enjoyable outing.

This trendy restaurant is clean, but a bit dark and close-in. The barbecued pulled pork had an excellent flavor and would have benefited from a little more barbecue sauce. A thumbs up on the French fries - cooked just right and not greasy. If this review was helpful, please "like" it.
