Food temperatures were frequently mentioned as subpar, with some meals arriving cold and improperly cooked. Complaints included long waits for drinks and food, with experiences described as slow and frustrating, especially during busy hours. On the positive side, some diners praised the freshness of the ingredients and the skillful preparation by the chefs. Unfortunately it's really gone downhill with the service and quality. Sat 20 minutes waiting to order in the freezing cold. We could actually see our breath. Whatever you do, DO NOT let them seat you by the metal escape door in winter. Even the workers know it's cold in this corner. After ordering, drinks took 40 minutes to arrive (bottled beer and a martini). The martini was underwhelming too. The waitress was extremely inattentive and running off as soon as she could. Someone seated at our table ended up pouring water refills for half the table because the waitress left after only refilling two cups and never returned. Found a sharp bone in my chicken (surprising because it's breast). 8pm reservation & seated but they didn't start cooking until 9 (soup came around 8:35). Really sad because it used to be an awesome experience. It's still fun, but horribly slow service and high prices for the quality.

As we sat down, I began reading the reviews, and actually considered leaving. Couldn’t have been more wrong. We were seated immediately, the table was set, menus out, and the water glasses filled. We ordered within 10 minutes, and about 5 minutes later the soups came, it was delicious, 5 minutes later the salads came, generous portions, and very fresh lettuce, with plenty of tasty dressing. The chef started cooking at our grill 30 minutes after we walked in, perfect timing! He reviewed our orders, and performed his show. Great attitude, very friendly, and perfectly prepared. The dining room couldn’t have been cleaner, the vents, ceilings, grills and floor were meticulously clean. All the food was as fresh as it could be. The portions were twice what we usually get at these types of establishments. I had the fillet mignon with lobster, big fresh tail, and the fillet melted in my mouth. Our hostess, Ming, was a delight, my family talked to her for about 15 minutes as we were leaving, she shared pictures of her recent trip to Shanghai, and made jokes, just a perfect end to the evening. I even sat next to that steel door, the temperature was comfortable, I can understand with recent weather, it could get cold sitting there. If you’re considering a meal there, you’re in for a treat. Even the leftovers were as good as the fresh meal. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We waited more than 20 minutes for a server to even greet us. Came over and immediately starting taking our food order. Completely skipping over drinks. The “chef” had to go back to the kitchen twice for his own mistakes. Half of our steaks were cooked to the wrong temperature. Ordered medium rare and received well done.

Interesting that the Chinese and Japanese restaurant joined forces. So they ask you what menu you want when you arrive. I was between the more expensive sushi sashimi combo and the chirashi and highly recommend the chirashi for quality and value. Lots of rice under the sashimi, coming out as a plate instead of a bowl. While the white tuna was a little off and the miso soup was a bit strong, the rest of the sashimi was good. And the tobiko over the rice was a nice touch.

We used to like this place a lot. But their prices have skyrocketed and their service and food have gone downhill. We went here for dinner and were placed in a small back room, where, apparently, it was easy for the waitress to forget about us. We waited so long for our food, it was lukewarm to downright cold when she dumped it off. And I mean, she dumped it off and ran. We didn't have time to tell her some of the items were missing. Like bowls for the soy sauce for our sushi, gluten free soy sauce for the GF person - which she was aware of when it was ordered. One sushi dish was spicy tuna - but came dry, with no spicy mayo; another person needed a knife to cut what looked like microwaved grill-marked chicken. Since she never came back, one of the guys in our party ended up actually going in to the kitchen to get the GF soy sauce; and the meal was just about done before we saw her again for the spicy mayo. No one at our table had a good experience - what we were served was not worth the large expense. I actually feel more sorry for the people that were seated next to us. They made 9 people sit at a round table that was built for, at most, 6 people. This party was not happy - you could tell by the looks on their faces.

My last experience was not great, they absolutely need a deepcleaning of the establishment and improve the timing of seating their tables so next time my party doesn’t wait 2 hours before the hibachi chef even BEGINS cooking. Other guests in the hibachi room were blaring their phone music and audio without consideration of others and no one approached them… ask them to turn it off or be dismissed simple as that. The same person had their child running around like their personal playground. Overall, go to Umi’s.

Only have two nice things to say.... atmosphere was pretty and the guy who cooked our food was nice. BUT OMG you can't hear anyone talk because you have so many people sitting on top of each other in the hibachi room. Waitress can't hear us talk, we can't hear other talk, no room to sit. Squeeze 10 of us at one hibachi table and we have to sit complete pressed to the table because people are directly at our backs. Tables so tiny that I sat with my sushi plate in my hands. Waitress barely cleared our table, we had to ask to have waters refilled a couple times because she just vanished for forever. We had to ask random workers for boxes and our checks. You upcharged for hibachi noodles $5.99 to get not even a handful of noodles each. There was literally a handful of noodles shared between 3 people for $18. All our vegetables were undercooked and mostly raw. My sushi "spider roll" rice was extremely hard like it was pretty old, and the seafood that was inside was completely overcooked, or over deep fried, extremely hard. My friends cut of beef was not even the correct cut of beef she ordered, lobster was over cooked. Then my boyfriend ordered scallops, and shrimp. Guy didn't even give him shrimp. We had to tell him a couple times that he ordered shrimp and he ended up walking in the kitchen and coming back with a small plate of microwaved shrimp with a drizzle of sauce. For an almost $50 plate of food he got microwaved shrimp. We went here to celebrate my niece turning 14yrs old. We told the waitress it was her birthday a few times but then we still had to ask her to bring her a cup of ice cream after waiting for boxes and our checks for like 40 mins. The amount of money spent here was insane to have so many issues with literally everything. Service was garbage, and I mean garbage, food was not good, and we spent almost $1000 dollars for one meal for 10 people. Wtf. Absolutely mind blowing. Overall I will never be back, and never recommend.

My business partner and I put together a last minute dinner meeting and showed up to Sakura Home without a reservation, during a busy dinner hour. Our server and host, Kenneth, took the extra steps to set us up in their traditional Japanese private dining room, which was quite a private and unique experience. The chefs presented us with an over-the-top delivery that dramatically exceeded expectations (see pics!). We were blown away! The fish was fresh, the rolls were creative, and the overall meal and service were truly exceptional. Thanks, Ken, for your excellent and thoughtful service. We’ll be back soon! Highly recommend Sakura Home for sushi or hibachi. Both are great.
