About Texas Roadhouse - steak house in Lansing, Michigan

Lively chain steakhouse serving American fare with a Southwestern spin amid Texas-themed decor.

Customer Review Summary

Texas Roadhouse receives high praise for its perfectly cooked steaks and addictive rolls, which are a standout feature of the dining experience. The atmosphere is described as lively with a friendly staff, though some reviews highlight long wait times for seating even when many tables are empty. Multiple reviews mention great food quality, particularly the NY strip and 22 oz Rib Eye, with thorough recommendations for the appetizers and sides as well. However, one reviewer expressed frustration over excessively loud music that hindered conversation, and noted issues with the restaurant's layout and management response which detracted from their experience. Overall, the chain is recommended for its delicious food and warm ambiance, but there are concerns about service efficiency and noise levels.

Steak was cooked perfectly. They have my little birthday girl special treatment and ice cream. Great experience.

Review: Texas Roadhouse – Okemos, Michigan When you walk into Texas Roadhouse, the first thing you notice is the warm, buttery scent of heaven… otherwise known as their rolls. I’m pretty sure those rolls are baked with a pinch of magic and a gallon of melted butter. They’re so addictive that I started calculating how many baskets I could eat before my server started judging me. My lovely wife tried taking one. She nearly got stabbed. Pro tip: They don’t judge. They just keep bringing them. Now, onto the NY strip steak. I ordered mine smothered in onions and mushrooms because, frankly, why wouldn’t you? When that steak arrived, sizzling on the plate like it just had a standing ovation from the grill, I knew I was in for something special. The meat was tender, juicy, and seasoned so perfectly it made me question if I’d ever truly eaten steak before. The onions and mushrooms? Let’s just say they weren’t a topping—they were a love language. The atmosphere was lively, the staff was friendly, and the peanut shells on the floor gave me that rugged “cowboy meets carb-lover” vibe. By the time I left, I was so full I considered rolling myself out the door, much like the rolls that started this whole delicious ordeal. 10/10 would recommend. But be warned: you’ll dream about those rolls for days.

Very friendly staff. Our server was very nice and tentative..food was tasted great. Well prepared .my only problem. I'm not sure if there are lots of empty tables, but we and other people waited 40 minutes to seated and never happened at other locations. Maybe not enough waiter .kinda confused Other than that, service food drinks were good

Holy crap, this time outdid itself. I entered in and within a 3-5 minute period, all 7 of us were sat down. I ordered a 6 Oz. Sirloin, medium rare with garlic shrimp. (Corn and steak fries as sides) After around 10-15 minutes our food comes out and it looked AMAZING! The steak was medium rare and tasted spectacular ALSO the shrimp that came with it, chef's kiss! Also the scenery looked amazing too. 5/5 Would go back and recommend.

Requested to sit in a booth, it was busy, they put us by the bar. The servers hang there, so, great service. She misheard me say fried chicken instead of fried sirloin, but OK. Food was very good, hot, served at decent intervals. Didn't feel rushed. Drink was potent. Was a nice evening. On another visit, we shared the 22 oz bone in Rib Eye. Got a side each and had potato skins for an appetizer. They make really good cheesy bacon skins! The Rib Eye was fabulous and actually we still had a take out box. Really great. My full grown sun was able to have a decent chunk of steak and the potato skins are huge, it made a decent meal!!! The Mango Margarita 100%

The rolls and butter and best during dinner rush. Any other time they may be a little dry or hard. The butter is always amazing. Their steaks and food are pretty decent. Their salads are what are shockingly good for a steakhouse. What I love to do most is get a salad during the lunch time. You pay the same amount you would at fast food place for a much better quality food that makes you feel good.

Music was way to loud couldn't even have a conversation at the table. I asked if the music could be turned down the waiter was allowed to turn it down one notch per the manager. The manager told me that per corporate they have to have the music loud so you couldn't hear people talking. What kind of poop show is this that you come for dinner and you can't have conversation with the people at your own table. I came for a meal not out clubbing. Not an enjoyable meal at all. I would advise that you stay away from Texas roadhouse on the south side of lansing. Tables moved in the aisle where people walk which is a fire Hazzard. Overall terrible experience. Shut down or do better. Funniest part is I asked the manager for his name and he didn't hear me ask for it or shall we call that selective hearing and rude. Good job roadhouse. Table in the middle of the aisle in pictures below and this isn't a fire Hazzard. Sad state of affairs at this establishment. EXACTLY WHAT I EXPECTED A GENERIC RESPONSE BY THE OWNER. SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Starting with beer and margaritas, fried pickles, rolls with sweet butter, and flower-shaped onion fries were also really delicious. (Onion blossom) I want to have Texas Road House's signature appetizer, fried onions, again. I was impressed by the generous amount of peanuts and rolls I received. The mashed potatoes with lots of toppings were also really delicious, and there is no need to say anything more about the ribs and steak. It was moist and full of juice, and the flavor was amazing. The chicken fried steak was a bit disappointing, but my steak was the most moist and tender I've had in a while. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice and the waitress was really kind and took good care of us.
