Way smaller than the Grand Rapids' location, this Bowdie's was way more quaint, intimate and cozy. The food was just as delicious and the drinks were just as strong. They offer a similar menu, but also have a store specific item, such as the Duck Ravioli. Our server explained that Lansing was the reason for being able to open the Grand Rapids, and you could see why. The wait staff were all very friendly and attentive, making it a perfect spot for our date night.

Quite simple of all the places I have ever attended and reviewed this may have been the best overall food and experience and it’s not even close! From the amazing service making me feel like home (if home was a mansion with ten butlers and personal chefs) to the insanely delicious food! I ordered a roasted half chicken which if not in the proper setting I would have eaten down to the bone marrow. The lobster tail experience alone was worth the price of admission. The server brought it over then with two forks in one hand while the other had a baby knife he cut the tail out of the shell and prepped it with butter on another plate then served it to me!! Insane!! The only down side was the toast they gave in the beginning as their version of bread and butter. Otherwise there was zero part of the experience that was not perfect. Beware if parking out back the spots are weirdly angled and then the back entrance brings you through the actual back kitchen and you have to walk through a tight space to get to the front desk. No reservation be prepared to wait for the bar.

I ordered Chilean Sea bass wish was served in a soup of jam that was very strange the combination. For side I ordered flies and mushroom, the mushrooms just come out of a jar.... No fresh at all! Chief why you made this terrible combination Sea bass and Soup Jam? The salad was a piece of iceberg lettuce topped with salad dressing and some squares pieces of bacon in the side... How come you called this a salad?. Just a cheap Iceberg lettuce.... After dinner we ordered expreso coffee that was the coffee cup over a large square plate with an oversized spoon... Everything was wrong with this... Somebody is not looking over details at this restaurant.

I've been coming to Bowdies since they open their Lansing location in 2014. They are always consistent, have fantastic service, and by far the best steak house. The only thing I would hope to improve in the future would be the size of the restaurant. It can be hard getting reservations at times.

Don't know exactly how I would describe this one. A very elegant bar atmosphere maybe? The staff was amazing and the food was as good as everyone told me it would be. Food was served as timely as we requested, without rushing us through. Service was super respectful throughout the visit. I'll definitely make time to stop there again

Great place for that special occasion! Steaks were cooked to perfection. The shrimp bisque was creamy and tasted good it needed more chunks of shrimp in the soup. Overall great experience. Price for appetizer, 3 steaks, 2 sides, and desert came to $273 without tip. I would recommend this place to anyone living in or traveling to Lansing, Michigan.

Had a nice date night with my husband and it was amazing getting dinner here. Got a reservation at 7.30pm and it was almost full house; small restaurant but good quality and service. Caring staff and awesome steak! We ordered crab cakes (they were delicious!), a porterhouse to share (40oz, we were stuffed!), and green beans as an ala-carte side. Portions of food are big and shareable. We were too full to get desserts but they looked amazing when other customers were enjoying them!

Had our anniversary here and it was very nice and intimate. The staff was fantastic and very attentive. The food was fantastic. We tried a bit of everything but would highly recommend the bone marrow & scallops! The only issues we had was one steak was over cooked a bit but was replaced and very nice about doing so and the tables are very close so we couldn’t hear anything over the very loud group next to us…Other than that the staff and food was great!
