Customer Review Summary
Service at Urban Steak is generally praised, particularly with high marks for server Margie. However, the food quality is inconsistent with some dishes receiving mixed reviews. Loaded mashed potatoes and steaks were criticized for lacking flavor, while burger portions and specific items like cheeseburger egg rolls were deemed too large. Several diners enjoyed large portion sizes and reasonably priced drinks, citing dishes like chicken quesadillas and Detroit sliders as highlights. Ambiance is described as calm and cozy, with quick service noted in some visits, although there were instances of slow service and unprofessional behavior reported during closing hours. Overall, experiences vary widely from wonderful to disappointing, particularly regarding food quality and consistency.

Service is amazing. The food is mediocre, at best. The loaded mashed potatoes— who puts a Kraft cheese slice on top? Just not good. Medium rare is warm red center, not pink. The cheeseburger egg rolls are just too big and honestly too much meat. Little details, but important. The server was great!

Margie is absolutely amazing! (She’s a server at Urban Steak.) I am currently writing this review halfway through dinner, she’s that good! She is so welcoming and immediately made us feel at home. She was happy to answer questions and very patient while we made decisions about our order. The environment here is very calm and cozy. There are TVs in various places and at the bar, but they aren’t overpowering or loud. The food is quite tasty and the prices are good, especially for the quantity. Yes, the portion sizes are quite large. My son’s burger was missing the bacon and Margie was on it. She made it right within minutes. I will say that if you eat low carb and decided to forego the bun, you’ll only get one thin piece of lettuce, unless you want to pay extra. Overall, our experience has been wonderful here at Urban Steak! Thanks Margie, aka best server ever!

Such a great on-site restaurant attached to the Holiday Inn. I was seated quickly, the restaurant was clean and well kept. I enjoyed a glass of Moscato that was fairly priced - for those interested in other drinks, the menu was large. For dinner, I had the chicken quesadilla, which was plenty large for a main dish and a side of the urban fries. Prices were reasonable, and the food was prepared quickly. Overall, it was a great dinner choice!

The food was fantastic here. Service was great. Portion sizes were impressive to say the least. This is the best hotel attached steakhouse in the area hands down.

Loved the Detroit sliders! And the fries are great. This is across the parking lot from Springhill Suites hotel near Detroit Metro Airport. When we fly out early we stay there and eat dinner here. Typically not too busy and the food is fine. Service is good too.

Well pick this place even though reviews was not the best and those was very true the steak was a new York strip these are know for lots of flavor and tender but that was not the case very tough steak and no flavor at all would not recommend getting a steak here at all service was very slow. The photo makes it look great but that was all it was about it.

We arrived around 8:50PM, and it took a while to be seated, although there were plenty of tables open and we were the only people waiting to be seated. Apparently they closed at 9:40, but our order wasn’t taken until 9:35. Took forever to get drinks. Then to hear the two women servers yelling across the restaurant about closing time and one said “YOU AINT GOT TO GO HOME BUT YOU GOTTA GET UP OUT OF HERE”, that was very unprofessional. Our food came after closing time and we are fairly quickly, but the wait to get our checks and everything else is what took us a minute to leave. That was very rude. Maybe service your guests faster if you want them to leave faster or put a sign up saying you stop taking guests at a certain time. My food (Shanghai shrimp and 3 cheese mac) was good though.

Staff was friendly, Big shout out to Margie. She was very friendly. She suggested the Detroit Sliders and the Urban fries. I love the Urban sauuce. She was spot on. I loved them both!
