Customer Review Summary
Texas de Brazil - Detroit offers an impressive dining experience focused on a variety of meats and a well-stocked salad bar. Many guests appreciate the attentive service and upscale atmosphere, although some feel the tables are too close together. The Lobster Bisque and Fried Bananas receive high praise, while the meat quality is generally good, with occasional complaints about overcooking. Service inconsistencies are noted, with some patrons experiencing long waits and miscommunication from staff. A few diners report negative encounters with management, feeling rushed and unfairly treated, which marred their overall experience. While the restaurant has its strong points, such as great food and a welcoming environment, issues like bathroom availability and service efficiency lead some guests to consider it a one-time visit.

What a fantastic restaurant. I usually don't visit chain restaurants, but I'm glad I came here. I really liked the format of guys walking around with various meats and cutting some off for you. It's a good thing I'm fat because the meat just kept coming. There were multiple varieties of beef, pork, chicken and lamb; each one better than the next. The little bread basket was really good too. The salad bar is impressive too and after eating so much meat it's good to have some vegetables. The service was good and they stayed on top of things. I had a reservation, but still had to wait twenty minutes. At first I was a bit upset by that, but once I started eating I completely forgot about it. The food was definitely worth the wait. If you're a vegan you probably shouldn't even look in the window. If you love meat, you will definitely love this place.

The atmosphere here has an upscale feel to it. That being said the tables are absolutely packed together like sardines. The salad bar area is very good with lots of choices. The Lobster Bisque is excellent. The side items of Mashed Potatoes and Sweet Fried Bananas are excellent, heck I had four servings of the Fried Bananas. The fries are very average though. The meats were mostly very good and tender. A couple of them were too charred for my tastes. The service was very friendly, but very inefficient. There would be large periods where my waitress just seemed to fall off the planet. The place was extraordinarily busy though. Even with reservations there was a wait. Overall a 4 star review. Would I return? Probably, it was good, I just don't love feeling like a sardine.

We had a large group and it was an underwhelming experience. The star of the show at this restaurant is the salad bar. However, our bill was over $250 for two people and we left feeling let down by the experience. The meat was bland and some of the pieces we were given were too rare. The lobster bisque is likely the best thing they serve. The atmosphere is nice, however there’s a single stall restroom for a crowded restaurant. The bathrooms in the main building were closed, so there was always a wait. The staff walking around with the meat did not speak english at all. This made it difficult to communicate. We also did not get the garlic mashed potatoes or fried banana with our meal. Our group spent over $900 all together and none of us were impressed. Unfortunately, this was a one and done experience for us and I think next time we will try the other Brazilian Steakhouse in Troy. *Also, I am sure the owner doesn’t care about the negative reviews. Only seems to comment on the positive or vague ones. You all can do better.

Excellent cuts of meats served by the gaucho’s all on meat swords. The salad bar would have been much more than enough with all the choices they provide. Clean and welcoming with great service!! A fun time was had by our large group!!

I am writing to share my experience at your Detroit location on Woodward on September 19, where we were celebrating a birthday. While we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food and our attentive waiter, I regret to report that our experience was overshadowed by the behavior of the manager. Unfortunately, the manager's attitude was quite rude, making us feel rushed throughout our meal. Despite having a waiter who was polite and accommodating, the manager approached our table multiple times, asking if we were done and even took plates away while we were still eating. This was particularly frustrating as it seemed we were being treated differently compared to other guests nearby. He gave us a very discriminatory feel, while he may not be racist per se, he showed a clear difference in how he values white customers vs black customers. We expressed our dissatisfaction directly to the manager, but it felt as though our concerns were dismissed. He began telling other staff who laughed in our face. There was no accountability on his part whatsoever only excuses and defensiveness. This behavior detracted significantly from what should have been a celebratory evening. It was disappointing to leave with such a negative impression, especially on a special occasion. We will not be returning to this location.

Great service, decent atmosphere, and alright food. I was impressed by the freshness of the salad bar. The lobster bisque is not to be missed. The picanha is awesome! Unfortunately, if you want rare meet this isn’t really the place. You have to ask for it specifically and they get much closer to a medium rare than rare. Still good flavor. Try the chimichurri sauce!

Everything about this place was amazing. The food, the service, the atmosphere and the environment. I want to try lunch this time but we did dinner and our server gave us great recommendations. It was our first time here.we wanted to try all the different kinds of meat and didn’t even get to try the salad bar :( haha

Marco was great. The salad bar was beautiful. The meat was awesome. They don’t really season the steak like they did the lamb chops so I didn’t really eat a lot of steak. Tables were a little close together and the tables needed more space because I had to keep moving stuff for them to set the plate down for them to be able to shave the meat for me only thing I didn’t appreciate too much was the one bathroom stall for women and the one bathroom stall for men. The ratio to customers and toilets were disappointing. Overall awesome minus the bathroom issue.
