Food was flavorful. Atmosphere was fun. Had the tartare and chorizo both were great. For entree had the New York Strip. If it were nice out, it looked like they had a nice outdoor area. It’s a bit pricey.

One of THE best food experiences I’ve had in Detroit, if not anywhere. I loved everything about BARDA, from the rugged exterior, to the minimal, dark and moody lit interior with the vibe set further perfectly with well-curated music and the happy sounds of the crowd and bustling kitchen. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and can’t wait to go back. Still dreaming about those Peruvian potatoes and the Burnt Alaskan dessert.

Let me be of the first to explain to you that this place is a true hidden gem of the city and they just made it to my top 10 list! I dined here tonight for the first time and rarely am I blown away by a restaurant, but they certainly did it tonight. The atmosphere is perfectly intimate and good for small group celebrations. The food, gas. The drinks, gas. The level of service, you guessed it correctly, also gas! Just book a reservation and thank me later. Also s/o to our server/bar tender Jacob for crafting the best piña colada I’ve ever had in my life…the guy was friendly and had a great spirit for only having been working there for a week. Thank you all for an amazing experience as I will definitely return in the near future!

The atmosphere is fun, energetic, and upbeat—perfect for a lively night out. Service was incredible! The staff struck the perfect balance: attentive and informed without being overbearing. Water glasses were always full, and service felt seamless throughout the evening. The Unbeetable House Margarita was refreshing and unique, while the Unico House Old Fashioned was bold and perfectly balanced. Food highlights included the Rescoldo Beets, with stunning presentation and great flavor, and the Scallop Ceviche, which was tangy, refreshing, and perfectly prepared. The Chorizo Argentino delivered savory, complex bites, and the Black Rice & Scallops was a comforting citrus-forward dish with perfectly cooked scallops. The Bife Strip Loin Steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked with a great crust, elevated by chimibutter and charred onion. Even the Roasted Cauliflower stood out with its beautiful charring and surprisingly complex tart profile. For dessert, the Raspberry Sorbet was simple, classic, and refreshing—exactly what it should be. Overall, everything from the food to the ambiance and service was exceptional. Highly recommend for anyone seeking an elevated dining experience in Detroit!

Hands down, the best restaurant I’ve eaten at in Detroit! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and truly made us feel welcome. And the food? Absolutely outstanding! Every dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. We started with the scallop ceviche, beef tartare with bone marrow, and grilled Caesar salad—each one packed with bold flavors and incredible textures. For our main course, we had the porterhouse steak, which was cooked to perfection, along with Peruvian potatoes and a refreshing fennel salad. The chef specializes in fire roasting and controlled natural fire cooking, and you can truly taste the depth of flavor in every bite. For dessert, we indulged in the burnt Alaska and the broken pavlova—both were absolutely divine and the perfect way to end such an incredible meal. The chef was present in the kitchen, and when my husband went to thank him for the wonderful meal, he was very kind. It was a great touch to an already amazing dining experience. Literally the best restaurant. 10/10 recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable meal. I can’t wait to come back!

Starting this by saying that the food was absolutely amazing, no notes. That was the softest short rib we have ever had, it literally melted in my mouth. The portion sizes were so large as well, and we got a lot move food then we could have eaten. That being said, the service was a lacking from our server. It took her a long time to check on us, take the order, and we also ordered drinks 5-10 mins before our food came out, and didn’t get them until we were finished with the food. Also, something of note, there was not a single handicap spot in their parking lot, or anywhere near the restaurant. Not even sure if that’s legal, but it was definitely inconvenient and pretty ableist for anyone handicap that wants to eat there.

BARDA is a must -visit and very unique dining experience in Core City. The lighting and decor is extremely sheek and modern. Their food is phenomenal as well. The scallop ceviche was spicy with apple fruit and lime to balance the spice. Their meat cuts are tender and juicy.

What a great restaurant with a beautiful patio for the Summer! We ate inside, but it looked lovely out there. Service was excellent, food was delicious, ambiance was chic and lively. We had dinner on a Saturday evening, and I love being able to see and taste the flames from the kitchen. The dishes I loved most were the zucchini ceviche and the Michigan trout. For a vegetarian dish to stand out so much on an Argentinian, meat-centric menu, it has to be great, and it really was. Tangy and herby with basil, olive oil and lemon. The toasted hazelnuts really sent it over the top. Delicious. and the trout was just so juicy and perfectly cooked with crispy skin and a crisp, fresh fennel salad over top; so good. We also enjoyed the octopus appetizer, the strip steak, and the potatoes. Everything was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. Though I drank sparkling water, my friends enjoyed their cocktails and wine; they even made something special for one of my friends, and she loved it. The steaks are especially spendy, but it's nice to go with a group and share - the bill didn't seem too extravagant at the end of the night, and we were all satisfied. The 4 of us ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees and a side. All in all, a lovely experience I wish to repeat.
