Comfy, family-friendly sports bar/eatery offering seafood fare & classic pub grub, plus live music.
Customer Review Summary
Overall, Knuckle Heads offers a mixed dining experience. Many reviews praise the great food, with a focus on items like burgers, seafood platters, and steak tips, and highlight the generous portions and friendly staff. Customers appreciate the casual environment and reasonable prices, especially on quieter days. However, some diners express disappointment regarding inconsistent service and long wait times. Issues have been reported with takeout orders, including forgotten items and spoiled food, detracting from the overall experience. The bar side can get noisy, and while some drinks are enjoyable, others, like margaritas, are criticized for being mostly ice. Despite these concerns, many recommend the seafood dishes and specific appetizers like the buffalo chicken dip, noting that the restaurant remains a good choice for local pub food.

I’ve enjoyed several dinners and lunch here. The burgers, Ruebens, and onion rings are great. Service is very good. Prices are reasonable (except drinks - see below). The place can get a bit noisy in the evening. Lunch time is quiet. The margaritas are a waste of money. Almost all ice. Very little beverage. If you’re looking for a local sports pub with good food and service, this is a good choice.

I'm kind of disappointed. Used to be my go-to and always on point. Last month, I had to walk out after waiting over an hour for my food, and now I figured I'd grab a steak for some protein, and that was def the wrong choice. It was so much fat that I needed an extra napkin to spit it out. Onion rings tasted like frying oil. Asparagus was too big and not seasoned well. Steak was overcooked. I'm actually sad.

Would come here every Friday, was a hit or miss. If it’s busy prepare to wait an 45-1hr for your food. Don’t sit in the bar side unless you want to listen to belligerent people arguing. Won’t be going back after my last experience. We ordered takeout, they forgot my steak and their was bugs in the not so fresh salad. It’s a shame because the food is good and reasonably priced on not so busy days, just seems like there is a lot of miscommunication between the wait staff and kitchen staff. The waitresses are pleasant and friendly.

Staff was friendly and efficient. There was plenty of seating despite the parking lot being really full. The portions are generous and the food is fresh.

I brought my family down to get some take out and it was all extremely spoiled. Scallops tasted like excrement . I got home we couldn’t even eat it because it had this oily listeria musky smell. I put vinegar lemon it was still disgustingly gross. $40 each and nope Un edible

New England is synonymous with world-class seafood, and New Bedford is the heart of New England’s seafood industry, and anyone in the know knows if you want great New England seafood in New Bedford, you go to Knuckle Heads. I ordered the Seafood Platter (Fish, Shrimp & Scallops served with a side of hand cut fries and Cole Slaw), and man, this thing was ginormous! Easily enough for two fully-grown, hungry adults. The cod, shrimp and scallops were battered and cooked to perfection. I thought I’d explode by the time I finished it all. I also ordered three Old Fashioneds. While delicious, I was disappointed in their size. They’re served in shot-sized glasses. I expect cocktails to be served in larger-sized glasses. Service is friendly, but the place is usually packed and servers can be spread thin. All in all, if you want first-class New England seafood at a reasonable price, in a comfortable, friendly, casual environment, Knuckle Heads is your place. *UPDATE* I’ve since tried KH’s quahog & lobster roll - both are excellent. Their jumbo lobster roll is gigantic! I had to eat most of it with a fork to get it down to a size that I could wrap my hands around! I love that they use minimal mayonnaise, which makes for mouthful after mouthful of pure New England lobster taste. Highly recommended.

The steak tips are killer!! Reasonable price and suitable portion size. The buffalo chicken dip is a must have when dining in. It travels wells, but it’s much better fresh.
