Alianca is a heavy hitter for Portuguese food in the region. A smaller half-bar and half-dine-in that may look like a hole in the wall, but holds some amazing, traditional food inside. I feel every restaurant has the dish that they’re better at making, but Alianca holds their weight across the board. The food is always fresh, hot, and the service always attentive, even for a random weekday lunch or takeout. The Mozambique chicken/steak are some of my faves (pictured). Most restaurants over-rely on hot sauce or seasoning but here is a chef’s kiss. Authentic flavor with no shortcuts. Love the whole garlic cloves in the sauce too. The baked stuffed shrimp is really good too, but I could keep typing about the food. You should just go, they deserve the love.

Definitely a business you want to spend your money at. Great food, good owner, and workers. My vehicle was involved in a hit and run while I was eating here and thanks to the owner and one of the bartenders the person who hit my vehicle was caught on camera and the owner happen to know the person who hit my car and tracked them down. Very much appreciated she didn’t have to do that but she did. Thank you.

This is a great restaurant if you’re looking for great Portuguese food at a great price with a decent portion of food. We got a seat right away and service was good. Parking was street parking. The area is busy on Friday night. There was a few outdoor tables.

Ordered takeout. Asked for a Portuguese steak sandwich. Even though they serve Portuguese, Azorean, Mozambican, steaks, for a sandwich they only serve it as a plain steak. Very disappointing for a traditional Portuguese restaurant. I changed my order to a pork and little necks dinner. When I asked how long, I was told 40 minutes….?? I picked it up and went home. The little necks consisted of 3. The pork was very dry and tough and there was not enough juice to keep it moist. The potatoes were mushy, as if sitting a bit. I was very displeased that you cannot get Portuguese food like the old days.

Very good food. Large portions. My parents come here just for the specials. Cappuccinos are great too. Mostly street parking. They will do outside seating in their small lot during the summer.

Went for the first time today. Got the portuguese steak and i think it was one of the best portuguese steaks i have ever had. The brown sauce was abundant and amazing and steak cooked perfect nice and tender. The bill for 2 people was around $42 she had the steak tips and also loved it. great value great clean restauraunt will definately recommend

Wonderful. Parking is difficult but worth the aggravation. The servers were so warm and friendly. I had felt a little uneasy in the tight congested neighborhood but they out me at ease and made me feel so welcome. The shrimp Mozambique is life changing and far better than Antonio's nearby. Antonio's is also charming and good but for shrimp Mozambique I give Alianca the crown. I also had an Azorean steak that cut like butter and melted in the mouth. The pumpkin cheesecake was a great cap to my meal. If I was driving past New Bedford, I would make a special detour to go here again.

This is a very local, very traditional place. There is nothing fancy about it, but you cannot be the experience and the food. They make simple, good food, and serve it with a smile on their face, all for a very, very reasonable price. We’ve been going here for years and we love it.
