Customer Review Summary

Cove Surf and Turf offers a mix of positive and negative experiences. Many customers rave about the prompt delivery, excellent food quality, and large portions, particularly enjoying items like clam cakes and the swordfish. However, some reviewers express disappointment with certain dishes, such as the calamari and shrimp, citing lack of seasoning. The restaurant's atmosphere is noted as friendly, but there are complaints about rushed service during late reservations, leading to an uncomfortable dining experience. Overall, while the seafood and service receive high praise, inconsistency in dish preparation and reservations management are areas for improvement.

Ordered food for delivery, 3 miles away took only 25 minutes to cook and deliver. You know the food is good when you’re writing a review and you haven’t even finished the food yet. Clam cakes were phenomenal. Crispiest food i’ve ever received from delivery. Amazing portions. Food is really good. Not soggy at all. Amazing 10/10 experience i will 100% order again. This was my first time trying this restaurant and it did not disappoint.

While visiting a friend in New Bedford I thought why not get some seafood being so close to the water I assumed it would be fresh and well prepared. I was very much disappointed. And I only had 1 shrimp. The calamari was the worst I had ever had. No seasoning is not a good idea.. light seasoning always work. The only thing I enjoyed was the fries. Sad really. I ordered take out, the staff was so nice I tipped. Maybe a new chef...updated recipes... Maybe it was just an off day... 39.00 wasted

A nice local place with the expected New Bedford seafood plus plenty of other interesting menu items. I really like local places and this fits the bill. Friendly staff and a good menu. Seating is basic and a bit limited, but they do take reservations. Against our better judgement ;) we just had to try the Titanic Seaford Platter. It was more than enough for two. I had a good variety of seafood and was well prepared. Next time we will try one of the specials. I grade on a curve. If you like this type of place, it's a good one.

Enjoyed a great meal of swordfish with broccoli and a side salad. The fish was nicely done while the steamed broccoli was just right and the salad was fresh and tasty. My wife enjoyed her fish as well. The atmosphere was quiet and the service was great.

First time eating here and I must say it will not be my last. This restaurant is conveniently located15 minutes from my house and the food is outstanding along with the host and chef who both welcomed us upon walking in. Our food and drink order was taken very fast and just as fast as it was taken our food was out in front of us ready to enjoy. I could not find one complaint about our food or drinks it was all made perfectly. I highly recommend stopping in and giving the cove surf and turf a try if you have yet to you will not be disappointed.

Follow-up visit for some take out seafood on a typical busy Friday night during lent in a heaviliy catholic region. Order was ready per the quoted time. Have had to wait extra in the past, so be prepared. Went with an extra large order of fish and chips and they were really good. Not greasy, definitely tasted fresh. The fries were even surprisingly good, not soggy, still had some crunch despite the take out. Have had Clam chowder and stuffed quahog from here as well. They were okay. Place has a lot of awards, did see a lot of 2nd place finishes and a couple wins. They are definitely one of the better seafood restaurants in the area.

I ordered a burger, fish and chips and French onion soup. We got take out. The batter on the fish was soggy but the fish itself was super tasty and fresh. French onion soup was good. The burger was a burger- kind of hard to mess that up!

Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant experience. We called the restaurant to book a table for the 4 of us, two kids, two adults. The only time available was 8.30pm, kitchen closes at 9pm, they said. Knowing that, having two kids, we checked the menu online to save up time. We got the restaurant at 8.20pm, we sat, ordered, got the food ate and left in less the one hour, 9.15pm we were already heading back home. We were the only customers left, we had dinner with the staff moving around us cleaning tables, washing the floor, repeating continuously that closing time was supposed to be at 9. We had dinner while smelling the cleaning products they used. The waitress took off my boyfriend’s plate while he was finishing “to give him more space” We asked for the leftovers to go, but she had thrown away the biggest portion of them, a huge chunk of ribs. She was really nice, I think she got confused because she had to rush us. Moral of the story: please, don’t accept late reservations if you don’t want people to stay If we had known you close at 9pm, we would have gone somewhere else.
