Customer Review Summary
Overall, Granite City Food & Brewery received a mix of positive and negative feedback. Many diners praised the friendly and attentive service, as well as the enjoyable atmosphere. Specific food items like the Idaho Nachos, Wednesday Pasta special, and brunch options were appreciated, although some found certain dishes like the Peppercorn Burger to be subpar. However, the ribeye steak was a significant disappointment for one couple due to its toughness and over-seasoning. Concerns over pricing transparency regarding sides were also noted. A very negative experience was highlighted by a customer who encountered poor seating management and perceived inadequate service, leading to a decision never to return. Overall, there seems to be potential for a good experience, but inconsistencies in food quality and service issues have led to divided opinions among patrons.

Food was great! Server was fantastic! Everything was great but the bathrooms were very cold.

The service overall was attentive and friendly. The only negative about service was we were clearly not advised of an up charge for salad versus settling for green beans. The server asked us if we wanted the green beans or something else. I even made the statement that I didn’t know we had a choice. And she replied that we did. Full disclosure of the price changes should have been stated. Regarding the meal itself, we were highly disappointed in the star of the meal - the ribeye. It was cooked perfectly at medium, but the quality was awful.it was extremely tough and even hard to cut with a steak knife. There was so much gristle in both our steaks. Mine was completely over seasoned, but my husband was satisfied with his seasoning. I left over a third of steak on the plate - it was that unsatisfying. We mentioned the quality of the steak to the server, who did offer to comp something, but we did decline. We just won’t be getting a steak here ever again, and quite frankly, we have no intention of returning any time soon.

I have been to this place couple of times when I travel. The atmosphere and the service is great. Friendly and welcoming staff. Some of the food items are great. I tried Peppercorn Burger but it didnt go very well for me. I felt like the patty was bit hard than I expected. But overall great experience.

Beautiful space and great service! Enjoyed dinner with some friends and tried the Wednesday Pasta special ($11.99 pasta entree with unlimited salad and garlic bread). We enjoyed the Idaho Nachos, the Caesar salad is very good, and the Cajun pasta brings a good amount of heat! Garlic bread was ok. Honestly it was enough food we didn't utilize the unlimited salad as the salad was pretty large! But did snag a few extra garlic breads.

The food was great, and so was the service. We would definitely recommend this place for Sunday brunch. We did call ahead for reservations as we know it can get busy.

My first experience was at Christmas time what an amazing day they made that for my 6 year old granddaughter! From all of them being dressed up, to Santa and Mrs Claus it was wonderful! My most recent visit was just the same the staff goes above and beyond, they're always friendly and always asking if you need anything! The hostesses are adorable and so friendly! The waitresses are knowledgeable and so accommodating! In the food is on point! Will be making my first visit for the brunch this Sunday and I'm so excited! Keep it up Granite City you guys are awesome!

Worst service I have ever had at a restaurant. I will never visit the place again, nor shall I ever spend any money at any BBQ Holdings location as long as I live My party of 4 arrived around 3:00 PM on January the 18th, and requested a table. We were told it might be a few minutes, which is fine, however when the lady came to seat us over 20 minutes later she attempted to place us in a booth for 6 instead of a table. There were 5 or 6 open tables in the room, and when my party asked about them, the worker said she would have to get permission to sit us there. Apparently permission was denied, as she came back and said no, so we left. I would also like to point out that two other groups of people left during the same time for the same reason, and that I personally watched another groups drinks sit on the bar for over 20 minutes before someone came and got them, anyone could have tampered with them as they were unattended for so long. One last thing thing I would like to bring attention to is that they had 3 hostess on staff standing behind the check in counter, literally doing nothing. While they were busy doing nothing, the manager on duty literally told them, and I quote, "pretend like those tables do not exist". A real leader would have rolled up his sleeves, grabbed a serving tray, and provided his team a strong example and waited the tables himself if need be. Absolutely weak and unprofessional leadership. I am done with Granite City and BBQ Holdings for the rest of my life.

Went back in December on a weekend night and it was not busy at all. Very fun, festive cocktails for the season and very delicious food! First time ever going and would absolutely go back. Very enjoyable atmosphere, design, and music to enjoy in the background. Staff was incredibly kind as well! A little bit on the expensive side (roughly $80 for two drinks, an appetizer, and two meals), but certainly worth it for a nice night out or a celebratory meal.
