Customer Review Summary
Overall reviews of Ramsay's Kitchen reveal a mix of opinions, with many patrons feeling the restaurant is overrated. Service is often praised, with staff being attentive and friendly. However, food quality is inconsistent; while some enjoyed the Beef Wellington and crab cakes, others found dishes like the butter chicken and fish and chips disappointing. Several customers mentioned issues with temperature and flavor, particularly with items being undercooked or overly salty. Honestly, wholly and truly overhyped. I’m not sure what Gordon would think if he saw this restaurant was under his name. The service itself was not at all bad, the people working weren’t rude by any means. We were seated right by a large window, and had our menus right on our seats. The menu had quite a few options, and they had halal options, which is commendable. The starter that was ordered were rolls, which were a surprisingly good start. When the main food came out, the Beef Wellington was served somewhat lukewarm. The meat wouldn’t stay inside the pastry and felt nearly raw, unless that’s how it should be, which I wouldn’t know. The pastry was also sort of wet. The butter chicken was nowhere near what a butter chicken should be, there was barely any actual chicken in it and it was more of a rice dish, which is not butter chicken. The fish and chips were not bad, but also were served near cold. The truffle fries that were added to the lobster roll seemingly had no truffle to be found. The lobster roll was also good but felt over salted. The potato gratin was practically flavorless. The sticky toffee pudding was a decent dessert for an overall mediocre meal. I most definitely wouldn’t come back, don’t fall for the hype, it’s not that good.

We finally visited this signature place. At first, I have to say the food taste is pretty disappointing, especially the beef wellington. Their sticky toffee cake is also too sweet. The waiter will recommend you to get their two-person beef Wellington for $150. I would suggest don't get it. Just one portion to satisfy your curiosity will be enough. Their butter chicken is not bad at all for a second dish.

We came in tonight to celebrate my birthday! Food and drinks were spectacular, the beef wellington was cooked perfectly medium rare and tasted incredibly fresh and high-quality. Crab cake as an appetiser was the perfect way to start, I loved the little salad on the side and the way all the flavours complimented each other. Our drinks were mixed perfectly and were very refreshing, I had a white cranberry cosmo and couldn’t recommend it enough. Price wise, yes, it is quite expensive—but we were more than satisfied with the meal we had and will certainly come back again.

Overall it was a disappointing experience. To start they put us at a table right at the back. It was extremely cold there. They even had a make shift electric heater near us. It didn’t help at all. We sat with our coats over our laps. The starters we had were fair to good, but nothing to write home about. We had the fish and chips and had to send it back. It was all mushy and gooey. No crunch to it whatsoever. And tasted bad. We swapped it out for the burger. That was definitely delicious which I do recommend. The server was good and she kindly did not charge for the fish and chips. We skipped the dessert because all hope was lost at that point. Plus our toes were frozen. I think Ramsey should come visit and straighten things out. I gave it a 3 out of 5 but that maybe too kind. For the money we spent, you should get better quality.

As a huge Ramsay fan, it was a bummer that the food is definitely overhyped. The Wellington is good, but not worth the price tag — have had better Wellingtons for much cheaper. However, some of the specials here like the mussels were great, and basic items like salads are good as well. Shrimp were a tad overcooked, but seasoning was spot on. Atmosphere is a dark / moody interior inside an awkwardly long restaurant, so we opted to sit outside. Our server Dylan was great. We did go for our 5 year wedding anniversary so I was a bit surprised they didn’t do anything to celebrate, but overall was a good experience though probably wouldn’t rush to go back.

We came here for Naperville restaurant week. Specifically to try the Beef Wellington. Let me say it was amazing. The Prix Fix Dinner for this week started off with choice of salad or soup we had the Harvest salad. Simply fantastic with plenty of goat cheese and the almonds were spiced to perfection. Next was the main course half portion of the Beef Wellington. Their idea of half was enormous. The steak was cooked flawlessly to a tender rare and the puff pastry lined with spinach tasted fantastic. Finally, for dessert the choice for us was the Pot De Crème. Probably the best dessert I e had in a very long time. The portions on all were perfect. Service was impeccable all night as our waiter was always around when needed and water was always filled. Managers would swing by and check to make sure all was well. Honestly can’t wait to go back and try some other menu items. I forgot to mention we also ordered the tuna tartare. Was more than enough for two people and was seasoned perfect. I would recommend reservations because the place is not enormous and the tables were filled all night. Great job to this team front of house and back of house Amazing experience !

I am a fan of Gordon Ramsay, and I was excited to come to one of his restaurants for a work holiday dinner. I was disappointed, to say the least. Really, the only good things I had were the bone marrow, crab cake, and cheesecake (which was much better without all the overly sweet/acidic toppings). The "sweet rolls" were not sweet, the wings were "meh," the potato truffle puree was WAY too salty, and the Beef Wellington was not great (way too soft and came out of the kitchen cold). All in all, if you're gonna spend a good chunk of change, go somewhere else. The food is not worth the price. Looks can be deceiving, as it all looked wonderful, but it did not live up to the hype. The server was nice, and the wine I had was alright. But other than that, I would find somewhere else to go if you're willing to spend a decent amount of money.

I had a feeling that this would be a waste of money, but turned out to be a good experience. Oh my goodness, our waitress was top of the top. I hope she gets some extra $$$ for providing a great image to the restaurant!!! The drinks were def 5 out of 5. The food was far away from perfection. I was disappointed in each single meal. Lobster and shrimp pasta had no flavor, no spices, not even taste of lobster or a shrimp. Probably CAULIFLOWER APPETIZER was the best thing on the menu, but still had no salt; only its’ sauce was good. Definitely not something I would recommend when it comes to high end restaurants… Thank you for the experience. Wish ya’ll best.
