Service, food and ambience is excellent! Been several times over the years, and never disappointed. First time for brunch, and as good as dinner. Best prime rib! French onion soup always a hit. Can’t go wrong with the bloody’s.

Such a cute little spot, the server was very knowledgeable. Went here for my birthday, and she was so sweet she told us the story about how Walt Disney used to dine here and how this is LA's oldest restaurant. She made some suggestions that were pretty awesome. The cheese dip and toasted bread were so good! I had a popular dish (name escapes me at the moment). It includes the creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, and the pudding. I also had the French Onion Soup, the cat's pajamas! Check it out! My boyfriend had the thicker cut! He said he really liked it, too. A few days later, he told me he was still thinking about it and couldn't wait to go back! We will definitely be back

Great food. Steve, our waiter, was very attentive and made the experience wonderful. Love the atmosphere and history behind this spot. They have live music and we certainly would go back.

This place is so cool! The inside makes me feel like I’m in a Disney movie set. The food is quite lovely! The service was incredible and everything came out at a great pace. Their creamed corn was definitely my favorite side! I am really looking forward to coming back for brunch!

This is a favorite, special-occasion destination for us. This time we were celebrating a birthday. Reservations are recommended because the place is pretty much always busy. And if you book fast enough in advance, you can get “Walt’s table” where Walt Disney would frequently dine. This time, we selected the bone-in ribeye and the California City prime rib. Both prepared expertly and delicious!!

Book a table if you want the restaurant - if not you will get a bar table or booth which is nice and just as good. You need to BOOK, BOOK, BOOK though because this place gets packed - when we came out there were almost 10 cars banked up in the street waiting to get in the car park and the foyer was packed of people waiting for their table. WHY - because the food is amazing!!! I loved the Shepherds Pie and the boys loved their steak. We did not have any problems with our meals. The guys filling our drinks up was good - the rest of the service was hit and miss. We had a great night out, we found our families tartan (they have different ones all around the place and the lady at the front can tell you where yours is), the place is beautiful and there were not much negatives.

As a Lawry’s long time VIP, this is a tough one; especially since I have been enjoying this particular restaurant for over 40 years. I hosted some out of town friends a couple of Fridays ago and had one of the worst restaurant experiences, by far. We have regularly enjoyed going to the Tam O Shanter, whenever we get together. To start, our waiter was terrible. He was super slow, spent way too much time socializing at the other tables, and actually lectured us on the place and how to order, even though we’d been here over 100 times. He made several comments about how busy the kitchen was. Our drinks, beer and wine, took 15 minutes to serve, the salads took 20 minutes, which seemed longer than normal, but our dinners took over an hour to be served. We were seated at 8:30 and didn’t get our Prime Rib, Mashed Potatoes, and creamed spinach until 9:45! We had pretty much lost our appetite, as it was so late. One of our guests ordered an onion soup that came out rubbery and cold. It was so disgusting that they didn’t want to even look at another onion soup. Some guy who looked like a hippy, straight out of the 70’s, in total overly casual clothes, came up to us to apologize. It took us a few minutes to realize that he was the manager. Al he could do was say his kitchen was so busy. We’re like thinking, “The Prime Rib is already cooked, as are the potatoes and spinach. How long can it possibly take to serve up a few plates?” When the food came out it was lukewarm, at best. The meat was tougher than normal and the Yorkshire Pudding was like a rock. We ended up packing most of it in doggy bags. The manager gave us a discount, but my main concern was how bad the service has gotten in what used to always be a high standard of great service, clean restaurant, and delicious food. Looking at other recent reviews, I am deeply concerned that something has shifted within the management of this once fine-dining establishment. We have a 30 year history of coming here right before Christmas, but I think after this experience, we will be passing on that, this year. Definitely Disappointing!

I am so happy that the Tam is open during these trying times. I live only three blocks south of the Eaton fires, with only wind not fire damage to my property. Lunch today at the Tam provided a resbite. The staff, food and drinks helped greatly. Thank you all
