Customer Review Summary
NIKU X has received mixed reviews from diners. Some guests reported extremely disappointing service, including slow attention and cluttered tables, particularly for premium-priced dining experiences. Critics noted that the seafood, including King Crab, was tasteless and appeared to be of poor quality, while the advertised Japanese beef cuts did not meet expected A5 standards. In contrast, several reviews praised the food quality, particularly the beef and seafood selections, with some servers being described as attentive and knowledgeable. Ambiance was considered upscale, and many felt the buffet offered good variety and value. Guests mentioned confusion regarding menu sections but appreciated the option to reserve specific cuts of meat in advance. Overall, while some recommended it for a unique experience, others felt it fell short of expectations given the high price point.

This restaurant was a major disappointment. I cannot believe that my parents and I spent $500 only to receive such poor service. On multiple occasions, I had to get up from the table because our server was nowhere to be found. We repeatedly asked for the table to be cleared, yet it remained cluttered throughout the meal. To make matters worse, the desserts were brought out while the table was still in the same state, as shown in the attached photo—further reflecting the lack of attention to service. I chose the highest-tier buffet option, which is advertised as including premium Japanese beef cuts. However, the seafood selection was extremely underwhelming. The so-called King Crab was completely tasteless and appeared to have been frozen for a long time. As shown in the photos, the crab legs were unusually thin and lacked any substantial meat, making it clear that they had been stored frozen for an extended period. The same applies to the entire seafood bar. Regarding the Japanese beef cuts, I have been to Japan over ten times and dined at no fewer than six reputable steak houses. Based on my experience, the beef served here was clearly frozen, and its quality was mediocre at best. While the restaurant claims to offer A5-grade meat, I find that highly unlikely. I have had A5 beef on numerous occasions, and while these cuts may indeed be Japanese, they do not meet the standards of true A5 quality. The service was equally disappointing. Beyond the lack of attentiveness, the dessert—a simple Häagen-Dazs ice cream—was served in its original packaging with plastic spoons, showing a complete disregard for presentation. This level of service and quality might be acceptable at a $30-per-person establishment, but certainly not at a restaurant charging over $150 per person. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision and avoid an experience that falls far short of expectations.

The food was great! Came for the beef but ended up having more seafood. We got the $149 set. There were so many selections, we couldn’t try everything in the menu. Our server Darren was amazing and friendly and had many good suggestions, we left the ordering up to him!

This place is a seafood lover’s dream! The king crab, wagyu, and premium selection were all fresh and delicious. The ambiance is upscale and inviting, perfect for a special night out. Service, from JERRY, was attentive and efficient, making the experience even better. Definitely worth every penny—highly recommend!
So
The buffet offers great value, with a wide selection of both meat and seafood! The quality is excellent, and the service is top-notch. Highly recommend you give it a try yourself. Ps. While the Tom Yum Goong wasn’t quite what I expected, everything else was fantastic. Trust me, I’m Thai! lo

Loved this place. Jerry, our server, was phenomenal and super attentive. Every time steak and other items came out they explained what it was and how it was prepared. Overall it was fantastic. For parking it was valet and it was about $17 One thing that did confuse us when booking our table was the “Steak Section” vs the “BBQ Buffet” section. The BBQ Buffet section is a table with a grill in the center whereas the Steak section didnt have a grill in the center. We preferred the steak section because they cooked the meat for you and you had a beautiful view of the city. Both have access to the buffet and unlimited items depending on which menu you picked. Would 100% go again.

The meat here is INCREDIBLE. Crab legs / other seafood was delicious too. Sushi is just ok though. The dessert was also very underwhelming. But Definitely try this out if you are a big meat lover. Our server Nate was the best!!! We did the $139, make sure to reserve the tomahawk ahead of time

Nate really treated my family and friends well throughout our dine in experience. He went above and beyond and communicated well on our menu and made sure we enjoyed ourself. The food was amazing. And made sure to explain every detail throughout our experience. We plan to return in the future for family dinners.

Having eaten at the Chubby Cattle BBQ, Mikiya, and Wagyu House by the X Pot, I'm a fan of the Chubby Cattle Restaurant Group so this review is tough for me to write because my expectations were high, especially given how difficult it was to secure a reservation here and the $149/person price point. Long story short: This place is good as a one-time experience. Raw bar was only OK,--everything is salty except the sashimi and lobster, you do not get to cook your own meat (which means you will not be able to control the tempo / pace at which you eat or eat it "fresh" off the grill), A5 Wagyu ribeye, top blade, and tomahawk are OK, but nothing stands out especially given the $149 price point. The one area I'd like to highlight is the amazing service. The whole staff is friendly, fast, helpful and warm! The details: The raw bar was just OK, the California King Crab (which looks like a mini version of the Alaska King crab) was very salty, the sashimi and lobster tails were solid, and the remaining items such as the fried chicken, salad, were OK but not what you're paying $149 for. At the $149 price point, you will not get to cook your own meat which means that the food may come out lukewarm (like it did for us). The Tomahawk, A5 ribeye, A5 top blade were good but nothing that would make me want to come back again for. The A5 round top was very dry and I do not recommend ever ordering this. The small plates that are a must-try include the miso Chilean Sea Bass, oxtail potstickers, and katsu sando.
