I’ve been wanting to try the historic Larry‘s prime rib meal for a long time. As a true LA native I feel like it’s a right of passage to dine at this establishment. I recently enjoyed my birthday at their Beverly Hills location, and while the atmosphere was lacking, and the service was slow, the food held our interest all the way through to dessert. The perfectly cooked prime rib, fluffy mashed potatoes, soaked in their special sauce; along side any of their delicious slides is sure to warm you up from the inside out. Leave room for dessert, the crème brûlée was absolutely worth it. Great spot for large groups and valet was $12. Definitely not your every day restaurant, but if you have something to celebrate, this is a great place to do it.

We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious, but what made us feel bad about this place was our server. She was not friendly to us. She was caring for the people around us and not caring about us. The worst is she kindly asked if they wanted dessert menu before bringing that to the other tables, but she just put the menu down for us without saying anything. And then when we tried to ask her about dessert, she pretended not to hear and walked away. We were upset and decided to skip dessert and told her. She brought us the bill and left us there for over 30 minutes. We had to keep waiting for her. She even walked around our table several times. However, she never came and thankfully a man who appeared to be the manager noticed our situation and helped us pay. Honestly, we never wanted to tip her, but Chris, who served our meat, and the other waiter who cleared our plates were friendly that we tipped. We're not sensitive people. But this time, we were really offended. Actually, we had made a reservation for Valentine's Day, but we couldn't visit due to some unexpected and lost our deposit. Nevertheless, we made another reservation for our wedding anniversary. We were sure that we would have a happy dinner here. A good restaurant should have great service as well as great food. we wish our experience here is as good as we expected.

Kind of disappointed of the 22 oz Bone-in Ribeye steak. Ordered medium rare but almost well done... 😥 The lobster bisque is so savory with rich of lobster with some lobster meats. Recommended. Sauteed seasonal mushroom is chewy and tasty. Rich and warm chocolate fudge cake concluded my dinner. They have great service.

I love Lawry's!! Never disappointed. From the Valet Service to the last bite, and incredible dining experience. Little side note: Lawry's inspired me to purchase a popover pan. Haven't used it yet, but goes to show that the culinary inspiration is real. 🥰

It's my first time trying prime ribs and let me tell you the food will never not be amazing here. You come here for the prime rib, and the rib only. The meat is extremely tender and flavorful not to mention the smoothest buttery mash I have ever tasted. This old fashioned style rib area is the top notch quality you will ever find in la so I can guarantee you it won't go to waste. Deserts were amazing with added thick fudge and Taffy making an explosion of flavors in your mouth. Please go here for the experience I just had I would go here everyday ignoring the price. 🙏

Came here for lunch on a weekend with my wife. Got a seat at the bar and split the traditional prime rib meal. The salad was incredible; seemed simple with greens, egg, and beets but it was very good. Mashed potatoes were buttery and smooth. I never had Yorkshire pudding before; it was plain tasting but I liked dipping it in the au jus. The prime rib was the star of the meal. Perfectly tender, melt in your mouth deliciousness. The bartender treated us to their dessert, a raspberry sponge cake. The cake was light with a generous portion of raspberries; a nice ending to the meal. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and I hope to come back next time we are in town. Highly recommend.

Going to Lawry’s is like being transported back in time. The restaurant reminded me of 1930’s decor. It had a nice atmosphere. Our servers Fiona and Noel were cordial, attentive and efficient. Our party of 4 each had a different cut of prime rib and all of the beef was cooked to perfection and very tender. The mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, creamed corn were all very good. The spinning salad demonstration was fun to watch. And the master carver were interesting to watch as well. We would visit again.

This has been on my list for a while, finally had a chance to visit. Very impressed with the entire experience. I feel this was in the top 3 best value meals I have ever had. The quality of the food and service provided were significantly higher than the price of the meal. We were treated like VIP’s and were impressed constantly as the meal kept going. Our waitress had been their 30 years and was more of a friend than a traditional waitress. She joked, encouraged what to eat, and delivered. We had the shrimp cocktail, oysters, fries, creamed corn, prime rib meal, and a hot fudge sundae. Love the horseradish, margaritas were good. I learned Lowrys seasoning owns the restaurant, they invented the doggy bag, was the first all women’s restaurant in LA, first restaurant to serve salad before the meal, bought the local hot fudge recipe in the 80’s that they still use today and they invented valet parking. The carts are great, would love to go back!
