Customer Review Summary

Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse receives mixed reviews from customers. Many patrons express disappointment in the service, citing long waits, inattentive waitstaff, and issues with order accuracy, especially regarding special occasions. Some diners, celebrating anniversaries, felt neglected despite having reservations, leading to unsatisfactory experiences. Conversely, a few reviews highlight the delicious food, particularly the bread and sides, with some recommending specific dishes like the cheesecake and lobster mac and cheese. Overall, while the food quality is praised, the service inconsistencies seem to overshadow the dining experience for many, leading to reluctance to return for several patrons.

This his not my first time here, but it’s most definitely the last time. They were short staffed but it’s not problem don’t sit walk ins and just honor the reservations (which I made months ago) We got seated on time but everything was downhill from there. The bread took forever to get there along with the two appetizers. We ordered the Tamahawk to share and it was rare, we asked for it to be made to medium rare plus as we had ordered. After $373, ot as so upsetting we just took our food to go and left and the manager didn’t even bother checking on the service. They were very attentive to the couple in front of us as they were ordering expensive wine. Overall, it was a very disappointing evening considering we were celebrating our 10yr anniversary. Won’t be back anytime soon.

I have so much to say about this place, none of it good. I had to edit this down bc all of it wouldnt even fit here. We were seated at a table and handed menus and asked what we wanted to drink. As the guy at the bar had recommended some things we ordered that. We inspected the menus and did not see the DINE LA menu. He comes back with the drinks and we ask for the dine in LA menu and he says OK and quickly grabs them and says he'll be back. We decided on what we wanted to eat. The DineLA menu lets you get one appetizer, one entrée and one dessert. I knew I wanted crabcakes and it said nothing came with them. Now this is on us, we didn't realize that some of the other entrées did come with sides. So we added mashed potatoes and broccolini, which you have to pay extra for. The bread comes out. I didn't care for it. My partner did. Instead of bread and butter. It tasted like a sticky bun to me. It was sweet. The waiter finally comes back and we order. He did not come back after taking our order. Some other person brought the bread and food. This would be a recurring theme of houdini the waiter, disappearing, never to be seen again. The food did take a minute, not too long but longer than I would say usual in restaurants. My partner and I were thinking, we didn't even have to order the sides or only ordered one because his entree came with sides. . We wished the waiter would have mentioned or reminded us that his came with sides. Anyway, now onto the food I got the lobster bisque. It was just OK. It needed more seasoning, but I did like that there were actual chunks of lobster in it. My partner got the dynamite shrimp and he liked it. I tasted one and it was fine. He ordered a steak which he liked, but he said the flavor didn't go all the way through. My crab cakes tasted like there were small pieces of the inner shell in some bites. They were OK, but could also have used more seasoning. The broccolini was very large. I don't know why they didn't cut those down to size. The star of the night was the mashed potatoes, which have green onions and pieces of the skin in it which some people may like, some people may not. We found them tasty. During our whole meal, the waiter came once and checked, and that was it. That was our first time seeing him again since he took the order. We finished our meal and now we're just sitting there and sitting there and sitting there. No one comes back. We're like OKkkkk. I decide to go to the restroom. When I came out, the food was gone and my partner told me he finally flagged somebody else down, not our waiter to pack up the food. Now we're sitting there and sitting there and sitting there again. Finally the waiter shows up. It has been so long at this point that our food was long settled and we could no longer handle dessert. So my partner asked if we could get the dessert to go to the waiter then loudly announced, " oh I don't know about that. They want you to eat here for restaurant week. Let me see." Houdini was never seen again ladies and gentlemen. So we're sitting there and sitting there and sitting there ... AGAIN..and now my very patient partner is getting irritated himself. During this time I noticed that our food was in a plain brown bag while others had a white bag with Del Frisco's logo on it and I'm over it. We came in one side of the restaurant and as we were sitting there, we noticed there seemed to be another entrance so I kept getting up. I'm trying to figure out where the waiters go where somebody is so we can see what's going on. My partner was completely over it at this point... unfortunately this review is too long and will have to end there. Point is we left without the dessert we paid for and said never again.

Love it here. Great place to eat before going shopping or anytime. Great food. Very filling entrees and the sides are definitely shareable. I’ve been here many times with my family and friends. I highly recommend. The bread they give you for the table is also delicious so don’t skip it in the name of counting calories lol live a little. Oh and try the cheesecake , it’s different in a good way.

My husband and I have been eager to try Del Frisco’s for some time now. We’re both steak lovers, so this restaurant has been on our must-visit list for a while. We decided to celebrate our anniversary here, thinking it would be the perfect spot. Located in the Century City Mall, Del Frisco’s is a classic American steakhouse. Their menu boasts a fantastic selection of appetizers, hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, and more. With seating available both upstairs and downstairs, we were fortunate to snag a perfect table by the window. The ambiance was delightful, and we were greeted with two glasses of champagne upon arrival. Starting with bread and water for the table, we indulged in drinks and oysters to begin. The drinks were impeccable, and the oysters were absolutely delicious. For our main course, we opted for the Double Eagle Table Tasting for two, which offered a wonderful assortment of sides, meats, dessert, and an appetizer. While the food was exceptional, we found the service to be lacking. There were noticeable gaps between courses, drinks, and overall attentiveness from our server. This resulted in a bit of waiting around, which wasn’t ideal. We prefer restaurants with a smoother flow, and unfortunately, our experience fell short in that regard.

Single diners beware—-this place wasn’t meant for you. I arrived about 30 mins after opening for lunch but it seemed like there was no staff around. When the server came she almost seemed shocked to see me by myself. She never gave me any specials (if there were any) nor made any recommendations so I ordered the cheeseburger although I was curious about the steak medallions for the business lunch. She told me she would bring me bread (which I wanted to try) but it never arrived. My drink was full of ice, so after 2 sips it was empty and she was nowhere to be seen. Finally got a refill when I was halfway through. Really disappointed in the service for a steakhouse that purports to be high end and charges prices likewise. Maybe she didn’t want to waste her time on just one diner (check) but I would’ve ordered more and tipped more had she been attentive. Don’t waste your money here unless you’re on a business account with money to waste——way better service at their sister restaurant, The Palm.

My first time, it was kind of casual but not too much which I like. The steak was good, if you like medium well it’s best to ask for well done because you’ll get medium well done steak. Loaded mashed potatoes were good. Dynamite shrimp was great it was too sweet or too spicy even balance. If you not a seafood lover don’t get lobster Mac cheese. I personally feel it doesn’t belong together. The dinner rolls were cool, it’s not the hype like other people say it is. They are hot, fresh , buttery and sweet. Asparagus could have cooked longer. The del Frisco salad was good it came with whole pieces of thick bacon I would prefer it chopped up ( good bacon) . I don’t know if they were short staff because our waiter was out of sight. The men’s bathroom was nasty they didn’t have anybody on the bathroom. The woman’s bathroom was decent but no toilet paper.

The bread alone is worth just walking into this fine-dining, uber-expensive steakhouse. Super buttery both inside and out with a sprinkle of salt, the bread here was a magical mix of sweetness and saltiness. Perhaps the best bread I’ve ever eaten in years. For the entree I had their prime ribeye. Presentation was nothing amazing. Just a slab of perfectly cooked and well-seasoned meat on a plate. Still, it was delicious either way. The sides I chose were the truffle fries and the lobster Mac and cheese. Let me tell ya: when I saw how they served the fries, my jaw came unhinged. The fries are piled into an oval-shaped bowl that seemed to have no bottom. The Mac and cheese came on a silvery dish, and the portion size was just as big as the fries. Suffice it to say, if you’re paying $14 on fries and $20-something on lobster Mac and cheese (both being just the sides) then you best expect they don’t skimp out on the portioning. Eventually, it was overwhelming in the best possible way and thankfully, I had my leftovers boxed and taken to go. Because of the portion size of both sides, for the first time since I could remember, I could not finish my steak. My fork was literally bouncing between the fries then the steak then the Mac and cheese. Sometimes I’d enjoy the endless bounty of fries and forget that I still had the Mac and cheese to devour, or I’d be eating both sides and forget there’s still like half a ribeye to consume. Everything was delicious in all cases though. Our waiter was a cheeky fellow. Had a bit of a show-offy, “look how much more I know about menu items than you”-kinda attitude. At first it seemed off-putting, but I could tell he was just being cheeky and not intentionally being a holier-than-thou kinda waiter. Not my favorite kind of service, but what could you expect when you’re rubbing shoulders with the rich and elite? The decor is elegant, obviously, though I did notice a chunk of concrete was sitting on the floor from the base of a pillar. Was wondering if anyone was gonna come pick it up and shuffle it away from customer view but no such action was taken. Either way, still a very clean, elegant, and fancy place. Certainly one of the most expensive dinners I’ve ever had. Would I return? Yes for the bread and the food. Maybe for the cheeky service. But certainly not until I can comfortably spend $100+. Question is: was all that money spent worth it? Short answer: yes. I would say if you’re rich or just have enough to indulge for a single night, come to Del Frisco’s. If you’re strapped for cash, stay away or take a loan or convince your rich buddy down the block to pay for your food. Del Frisco’s may not be THE premier dining in the planet (I’m sure other foodie enthusiasts may argue other places can take that spot over Del Frisco’s), but it is still top-tier fine dining in my honest opinion (oh and you kinda have to dress like you’re rich too; apparently they have a dress code and if you look like a bum or a blue-collar worker, they won’t allow you admittance. I’m not saying bring a tie and a suit; just look presentable enough that you could walk into a church without causing a distraction). Grade: A
