About Watertable - steak house in Huntington Beach, California

Rustic-chic Hyatt bar/eatery with refined, regional comfort food, vintage wines & local craft beers.

Customer Review Summary

Watertable offers flavorful and delicious food, with standout items like the garden benedict and short rib hash. The breakfast buffet is highly praised for its freshness and variety, while service is described as attentive and friendly. However, some dishes lack flavor, with a particular concern about oversalting. Mixed reviews on drinks, especially the Bloody Mary, which was deemed disappointing. There are complaints about inconsistent food quality, notably a recent negative experience with room service and certain dish availability. Despite its beautiful decor and ambiance, there are suggestions for improvement in dish seasoning and service efficiency, especially during busy times. Overall, while many enjoyed their meals, others found the food did not live up to expectations, leading to a divided opinion.

The food is so flavorful and delicious! Loved the garden benedict - ordered it most of the time when we stayed at the Hyatt hotel. The zesty lemon blueberry pancakes were so yum and fluffy! Tried the french toast and smith fresh whole omelette and both were amazing. The service was great!

The Short Rib Hash is very good. If you’re looking for breakfast that’s definitely their go to. The SoCa lacked flavor other than Salt. They definitely were heavy handed with the sodium. The Bloody Mary cost as much as the meal and was lack luster. Honestly one of the worst I’ve had. The Pete’s coffee that was suggested by the server wasn’t anything special either. Overall if you’re going, stick to the short rib. They seem to be a one trick pony.

Great breakfast. Fruit is fresh. Buffet on the weekends is the best I've ever had at a resort. Pricing is very reasonable. Of course the staff is on their A game.

I wanted the food to taste as good as the atmosphere and location was. We stayed at the resort and took our kids to dinner here during vacation. The staff was incredible, drinks really good, great ambiance. However the food just left some to be desired. The plating looks delicious but the actual flavors fell flatter than the dynamic look. Maybe more salt or acid or something to bring out some more depth. It also wasn’t just one dish, it was across the board.

What a beautiful restaurant located within the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach, the decor is stunning. We dined here for breakfast. The meals were very unique and inventive, but most importantly, the food and service were both fantastic. Watertable is a restaurant you'll want to visit whether you're staying at the hotel or not. Highly recommend for a drink or date night as well!

I haven't been here for a year and the quality of the food changed so bad, including the service. I usually do either room service or dine in, but recently I did room service. The first biggest disappointment is, certian foods cannot not be ordered. Personal didn't give me a reason or what type of food but for sure one of the food I was really wanting was the Bone Marrow. Did not get a chance to get that and I was will to do 2-3 orders (sad). The most disappointing was the Lamb chops. It was very very small than usual, dry, and blandly seasoned. I did two orders for myself and for my daughter. We both love the Lamb but that night, the experience was so bad, we didn't bother to finish it. So overall quality of experience was a one ☆. I don't understand the restrictions on certian food to be ordered. Next time, I rather go to an actual restaurant to eat quality that is good enough to bring back to the hotel and eat for the next day. Not going to go back or order room service. I felt that the people that do room service are less of a priority. I wouldn't recommend ordering room service to anyone. Since they don't see you, you don't see the integrity of the staff making an effort to ensure your satisfaction.

We came here for the New Year's Eve 4-course dinner meal ($120 per person) I got the lamb chops, pear salad, Chilean sea bass, and the six degrees of chocolate cake. The lamb was quite tender and flavorful, although was a little burnt. The pear salad was solid - I enjoyed the candied pecans, but personally didn't like the Roquefort cheese. The Chilean sea bass was incredible! Super flaky and tender, although a little too salty. The six degrees of chocolate cake was a little disappointing because it wasn't chocolatey enough for me

My expectations were higher. We did get nice private area for our party of 11 on Saturday night. Food was good. Bone marrow was a hit. And my son got his bday treat. But service appeared to be slow and unwelcoming.
