About Heirloom a Modern Farmhouse - steak house in Huntington Beach, California

Customer Review Summary

Heirloom a Modern Farmhouse has received mixed reviews from diners. Many praised the food as delicious, with standout dishes like the Crispy Eggplant, Mac & Queso, beet salad, and scallops. The atmosphere is described as chill and inviting, with friendly and attentive service despite some reports of being understaffed. However, some customers were disappointed with portion sizes and felt prices were high for the experience, especially given the location in a strip mall. Overall, while several patrons enjoyed their meals and expressed interest in returning, others found the quality lacking for the cost.

The food was great! The Crispy Eggplant was delicious! I'm not an eggplant fan, but I'd order this appetizer again. It took a while for our entree to get served. However, it was welcomed because we ate a lot of appetizers before our main meal. Oh, the Mac & Queso was AMAZING! I'll definitely go back!

I went to Heirloom for the first time and loved it! The food was delicious, interesting, and clearly designed by a very creative chef. There was a sign saying they were understaffed, but the service was excellent, and we would never have known. Our server was friendly, informative, and very attentive. The atmosphere was really chill. I will definitely go again.

The food and service is excellent! I wasn't sure what to expect since it is located in a strip mall, but once inside it is an upscale kind of place. I ordered scallop provencal. It is 4 scallops, but I ate one!

Not impressed. For the price point, we were expecting a different experience, but the portions are small and honestly the items we ordered weren't that great. The mac and cheese was a bit soupy but the service was what warrants 3 stars. Overpriced for being in a strip mall, which I can only assume that's to absorb the price of renting such a space in HB.

A mother/daughter duo have remodeled the old Black Trumpet and are busy cooking up delicious food to welcome guests to their"modern farmhouse". It is a family affair and everyone is warm and welcoming and working hard to ensure you enjoy your time there. They have a fun selection of beer on tap and wine by the glass. The beet salad was amazing and I would definitely order it again. The Curry Shrimp were also delicious. The scallops in Scallop Provencal were cooked perfectly but the risotto was underwhelming. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely be returning soon.

Everything on their menu is fresh--farmfresh! Wonderfully thought out, their ever-changing menu offers dishes based on what fresh, local ingredients are available. The service is excellent as they are always attentive to all their customers. It restaurant is not big so the place could fill up quickly.

We were excited to try this restaurant and were disappointed with the meal we had. The quality of the food did not come close to the price that was charged. We should have gone to a nice steak house for the price we paid for our meal. We didn’t even finish eating our food. We went on a Friday night and it wasn’t crowded but it still took 2.5 hours for us the eat dinner and pay the bill. In my opinion this is definitely not worth the price.

Hidden local gem with great food. Fab menu and great vibes. Place should be packed every night.
