Very disappointing. We stopped here for lunch because we had an appointment in the area. The menu we were given was very limited. I know the website shows sushi and tempura, but it wasn't on the menu today. We ordered chicken lunch plates with garlic noodles subbed for white rice. First off, the chicken was dry and overcooked. I had to take a big gulp of my drink with every bite. The veggies were good and nicely seasoned. The garlic noodles were just okay. You get your choice of sauces with the plate-- I had garlic sauce and teriyaki. They were SO COLD!! Ice-cold sauces do not help marginal food. The decor is very plain, and didn't seem really clean. There was a very, very heavy odor, but I'm not sure of what. It seemed like maybe cleaning products mixed with...dirtiness? I don't know. We regret going there.

Japanese Teppan-style restaurant in Huntington Beach (one block south of Beach + Warner). This is actually a local chain, with a total of 7 restaurants all over SoCal, from HB all the way north to downtown LA and Pomona. I actually discovered them through their food truck, which is known to be around major events in SoCal. Let me just start by saying that the food is great. The meat is high-quality --whether you go for NY Strip or filet--, and so is the salmon. I had the NY Strip bowl and it was very tender and tasty. I'm not sure going for the much more expensive filet mignon is worth the price. The pricing is a little perplexing, with sides being on the costly side. Also, there are surcharges if you want fried rice or Yakisoba noodles instead of white rice. And they're not small surcharges... Although not cheap, the Yakisoba noodles are excellent and wouldn't lose in comparison with what I've had in Japan. My wife had the grilled salmon, and she absolutely loved it. Service is good and relatively fast. Any faster and it wouldn't be that good. Service is good and corteous. All in all, a solid choice for this kind of food. It's not the cheapest (and if you know how much cheaper this food is in Japan you'd cringe. Of course, this isn't Habachihana's fault...

My first time coming here and the food was delicious. I was not disappointed. The waiter was accommodating and insightful. They offer take out and dine in. It has outdoor seating as well. I went as soon as they opened and was sat right away. I had the steak and salmon the fried rice upgrade is $3 more but worth it.

Habachihana Grill šŸ„¢ Huntington Beach šŸ– Tepanyaki in a Box šŸ½šŸ˜‹ I was quite mystified walking in without any Grill in the Restaurant, I was impressed with Quality and Flavor - Go Visit! Ambiance is Awesome and Service is Five StaršŸŒŸ and a Thumbs up šŸ‘šŸ»

I had an absolutely awful experience at Habachihana in Huntington Beach. I tried calling to make a reservation, and each time I got through, the workers kept hanging up on me. I called multiple times, and each time, I was abruptly disconnected without any explanation. This is completely unacceptable customer service, and I wonā€™t be returning. Itā€™s disappointing, especially when you expect a certain level of professionalism, but clearly, they donā€™t care about their customers. I wouldnā€™t recommend this place to anyone.

Great dine-in service. The place looks amazing. The food was bland and I'm pretty sure that's where their sauces come into play. The fried rice was mushy and oily and the sushi rice was a little stale.

Not Impressedā€¦ this place must only survive on take out orders. From the outside you would expect it to be a sit down restaurant with servers. This is not the case. Itā€™s more of a fast food style. You order at the front door and they bring you your food already packaged in to go containers. I donā€™t know what the difference between eating there and to go would be. The drinks are in cans or bottles. You could make the argument that itā€™s for sanitation reasons, but they serve beer on tap. I think itā€™s so they can charge you for water and refills. Food was overpriced and average in quality. You can tell they are just trying to skim on things and over charge what they provide. I was disappointed and will not be back or recommend it.

Unfortunately this place has gone down hill. The food is not very good anymore and almost every item on the new menu is 30-50% higher. You can't serve a $60 bowl of rice in a plastic to go container. Hopefully the next place that comes here is better, because this place will fail.
