Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

I would like to thank all the staff members in Kyoto. I had brought my family here for my fathers birthday but my child was not in the mood and was throwing a tantrum. The chef that was on the grill was amazing, he tried to entertain my son and did everything to help to put a smile on his face to calm him down. I got the chicken and steak which was a 5/5. The prices for the hibachi were really good. We had a party of six and I ended up paying no more the $160 for everyone.

The Acting Manager Haley had an attitude and was rude. The food was not seasoned well, it was very bland. My vegetables did not taste good at all. The drinks were watered down and they charged my 3year old son as an adult giving themselves gratuity. My waitress was friendly but didn't know drinks or menu items well. 223.00 later, price was not worth food or service. We were celebrating a special event. This place made it memorable but not in a special way. We will not be back. I do not recommend this at all.

The staff was efficient, the chef worked quickly, and food came out perfect. We had a large group, and they got every order exactly as ordered. The only problem is that the apps started coming out after the meal was already being served. Otherwise, it is highly recommended.

Been going for years and have never had a bad experience. The staff has become to be considered family. The food has always been on point. The portion sizes are abundant and the sushi is second to none. We will continue to dine here without question.

From the beginning it was okay and the receptionist up front was more like rushing me a little bit and they said once you sit down and everyone's not there they can't join your table I didn't like that. The hibachi guy was good but the server before him was like she was in a rush or something and they charged at 18% gratuity. Some of my guests were okay with some of it but they felt that they didn't turn on the hibachi grill soon enough because their steak wasn't done like they asked for it to be cooked.

This place is dirty. You walk in and there is a hostess stand with two girls and by the way, a tip jar on the hostess stand. What service warrants a tip to the hostess? Very tacky in my opinion - just another way of tip shaming people. You’re supposed to show parties to their table - that’s your job - you don’t provide a service that warrants a tip - just stop. Ok -‘moving on - place is filthy as hell. The bathrooms are disgusting. My wife said the woman’s bathroom is filthy too - why? A restaurant should have presentable bathrooms. Moving to the table - started out ok - server was a little slow but very nice - his slowness stopped me from ordering sushi plate. Next the chef comes out - pretty lame, no frills, no English - just a plain Jane cook in front of you - zero interaction. He seemed dirty too - bent down, while cooking and blew his nose in a, what seemed to be a cleaning rag - didn’t wash his hands, just went back to cooking - disgusting….this place needs a visit by the health department ASAP. Never again - and I highly recommend everyone avoid -you’re playing Russian roulette with your health. You’ve been warned!
