Located in the Galleria area is J Alexander’s. Went for a work luncheon and it’s in a shopping center with ample parking. All the galleria adjacent stuff to the actual Gallo is really nice imo. Still a hint of danger in the air but what can you do. Walk in and this mfer is massive. You gotta walk 8 seconds just to get outta the host stand lol. Anyways we get sat and our server was amazing. We were on a work call so she let us chat and picked appropriate times to check in and take our orders. That’s how you do it! Brassiere Chicken 8/10 - really like this! Chicken cutlets with some capers tomatoes lemon zest and mozzarella. The broccoli and mash on the sides are a great pairing. This restaurant is a hidden gem for anyone looking to enjoy a truly exceptional meal. I had a perfectly grilled Filet Mignon, while my wife had a deliciously crafted burger (we shared a bit). The service was impeccable, thanks to Mrs. Chloe, our attentive and gracious server, who made us feel right at home. If you're in town, this is a must-visit spot for one of the best steaks you'll find in the area.

But also, booths and low density crowds that allow older patrons to actually hear each other in conversation. I can personally recommend the deviled egg appetizers, the Thai salmon special (perfectly cooked), the Key Lime pie and creamed spinach. Desserts good, but limited selections.

We love this place and have since it was Merus Grill. J.A.'s has a very relaxed, calming atmosphere with comfortable booths, some tables for larger groups and a large, elegant bar. The staff is some of the best in Houston and always make us feel so welcome. (A special shout-out to Ken, Judy and Gabriela.) We've eaten here dozens of times, and the quality and consistency of the food is really impressive. The portions are extremely generous without skimping quality. They did a very good job of freshening up the regular menu with interesting specials ranging from fish tacos to sweet BBQ Thai salmon. The fried calamari is perfect, tender and crunchy. If you order salad here, you'll feel plenty full after eating because we are talking Mount Salad here. If you like dessert, this is the place to indulge. Again, make sure you plan to share! The wine and bar selections are fabulous. And for people like me who prefer a hot drink after a meal, the Earl Gray teapot service and French press coffee can't be beat. A++++

Was coming here for years regularly and it was consistently great until about a year or so ago. I always sit at the bar and the bar staff has really gone downhill. They are not attentive, efficient, or very personable. The experience is just not what it used to be. When they do get a decent bartender they don't seem to stay long, and the ones that seem to be sticking around aren't great at all. Was served raw chicken awhile back, brought it to the manager's attention who didn't seem to care much. After given then many chances to improve, unfortunately I won't be coming back here.

J’Alexander’s is fantastic. Service, food, and ambience are fantastic. I have had so many items on the menu. You cannot go wrong with anything. From drinks and appetizers to entrees and desserts, all are always consistent and delicious. Brassiere chicken is my favorite entree and the key lime pie is to die for. Will always be a regular.

cute date night spot! I love the interior and the service was great. we were checked on frequently. I ordered the cajun steak with mac and cheese. I loved the steak but the mac and cheese wasn’t incredible. my bf tried the filet and it was not as soft as other filets we’ve tried. the menu advises they have a different style of cooking the meat so maybe that was it but we didn’t live it. the appetizer was the hong kong shrimp and I enjoyed that a lot. for dessert we tried the chocolate cake slice and that was redeeming for my bf. he loved it. it was moist and decadent.
