Sunny's Sushi, Steak, & Seafood House

Our server was Destiny and she was very good! If you’re an avid water drinker don’t order the water here, it was not good. I ordered the spicy edamame as a starter, and absolutely loved it! 10/10. It took a little longer than expected to come out, but it was a decently busy night for them. As a main I ordered two sushi rolls, the California roll, and the crunchy shrimp roll (I believe that’s the name of it), I did also add spicy crab on top. Both my rolls were very good 10/10 and I even had some to bring home to enjoy again. My husband ordered the steak and shrimp plate, he gave it overall a 7/10. He enjoyed the steak and the shrimp, the stir fry veggies were not what were used to, but still good, he ordered fried rice with it and did not like it. I tried some and I wouldn’t have eaten it either. I’m sure depending on the person others would disagree. Overall, I had a great experience and will be getting my sushi fix from here!

Ordered 3 rolls: Sunny's Special, Lion King, and Caterpillar I liked the flavor on the first two, but the Caterpillar role was bland, probably wouldn't order that one again. Miso and kimchi were both served ahead of getting the rolls and I liked both. Ambience was good and service was okay.

The food is very delicious and fresh! We ordered the medium sushi and sashimi boat. It came out perfectly. However, there are two things I hope they can improve. (1) The music in the restaurant is unnecessary loud. I literally need to yell in order to the person next to me could hear. And I feel like everyone in the restaurant is yelling, too. (2) There was a hair in my food, and the empty plate they brought out was not cleaned

Miso soup was warm, not hot. Cucumbers weren't as good. Some of the chicken was cold. Egg was overly cooked. Water tasted like facet water. Everything else was okay. Waitress was very nice. I will not return to this location.

I had the 8 piece nigiri and sashimi. Not only was it delicious, the presentation was on point. Chef customized the plate at my request to have more salmon on it and the salmon roe was mouth wateringly good.

Had a great experience having dinner in this place. First time eating sushi here and I definitely recommend trying Samurai roll 🤍 huge shout out to our sweet server Bernice ❣️ awesome job

I have to say, if you're someone who doesn't know much about sushi, then this place will be okay for you. However, if you're familiar with sushi, you may find yourself disappointed. The rice in the nigiri was very dense and overly soggy, and the same goes for the rolls. Nigiri rice isn’t meant to be packed too tightly. Additionally, the rice should be marinated with oil to prevent it from becoming too dense. If you choose to order something other than rolls and nigiri, the experience might be better. The prices are quite high for the economy in El Paso. The service, however, was good.
