The Big Texan in Amarillo, Texas, is a fantastic spot to enjoy a meal with the family! The food was quite good, earning an 8/10 – rich in flavor and cooked to perfection. The ambience, however, truly stole the show with a perfect 10/10. The decor and atmosphere transport you to a genuine Texan experience that you won't soon forget. The beer selection is also phenomenal, deserving another 10/10 for its variety and quality. Service was solid, receiving an 8/10. While there were minor delays, the staff was friendly and attentive. One of the standout features is the gift shop and game room. It's a wonderful place to bring family and kids, offering entertainment for everyone while you wait or after you've enjoyed your meal. Overall, a memorable experience that's well worth a visit!

Let’s say I made sure to stop there during our All American Tour, and what a fun experience it was. Sadly I didn’t do the 72oz challenge, but I was happy with the vibe of this place. The steak was cooked to perfection and tasted great! My girlfriend ordered chicken, and she loved it too. And the best part? The price is super reasonable for the amount of food you get.

I came for early lunch on a Sunday when people who had breakfast were leaving. The server was friendly and helpful and made great recommendations, like a side of green chili creamy corn, which was delicious. The Ribeye was cooked to perfection; it was tender and marbled and did not have as much fat as some other reviews I had read claimed. The triple Belgian beer was slightly sweet and very refreshing. I had a great lunch experience and will be back with my family next time in Amarillo.

I have driven past this place lots of times. My wife and I decided to stop.for the night this time. The motel has a western or cowboy theme. Rooms were clean and the beds comfy. Check in was done all on line, pretty easy. You do get a little noise from the Interstate but it didn't bother me. Plenty of parking even if you are in a big rig. If you are hauling horses there is a place to let them out of the trailer. Dog friendly place too. We had time for dinner. I ordered the beef tips in burgundy sauce and was NOT disappointed. Really good. Tons of steak options. We came in pretty close to closing but they served us with a smile. It's a pretty big place with lots of seating. Staff was very pleasant. It's a unique place... kind of campy, kind of odd... but it all works. It was fun! We also had breakfast the next day. Look, if you like meat this is the place to stop. The place has been around for 50 years and I'm hoping it will make another 50. If you have kids it's a great place to stop.

Stopped at Big Texan Steak Ranch for lunch during my cross-continent drive, and it was such a fun and welcoming experience! The atmosphere captures the warmth and friendliness of Texas perfectly, and the food portions are just as big as you’d expect. I tried the 12 oz ribeye steak, a burger, and carrot cake—all were delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly, the burger was hearty, and the carrot cake was the perfect sweet ending. Their complimentary dinner rolls were a standout—served warm with a touch of sweetness, they paired perfectly with butter. Highly recommend this spot for a true Texas experience and amazing food!

We had a great Thanksgiving dinner here last night. We came because they were one of the only places open on the holiday but we are so glad we came. We had to wait maybe 15 minutes to be seated but the line moved quickly and the fun couple from Canada in front of us made the time pass quickly. We were seated upstairs which I liked as all the tables were individual as opposed to some of the farm style seating downstairs. Our waitress Emily greeted us warmly and gave us menus and the rundown. We ordered drinks and an appetizer and enjoyed the festive atmosphere. I ended up with the beef tips (served over mashed potatoes) and my husband got a steak. My beef tips were the big winner although the rolls were splendid, slightly sweet and soft without being mushy. The service was fantastic, Emily checked in with us many times over the course of our meal. I can’t imagine how many times those folks climb the stairs but they are a hardworking group. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience here and will be glad to come back next time we’re in town.

Food was good. My Prime was tasty but was on the lukewarm temperature range. The 2-5oz filet was delicious. The sirloin was ok - not the best, not the worst. No gristle was a positive. The chocolate cake was huge and dwindling. Service was fast. Atmosphere was the best, very interesting with all the decor. Lots of cute games to play.

This is a gem of a location from curb appeal to entry to service. This is an experience, not just a dining facility. The food was excellent. we ordered the tomahawk steak, and it was cooked to perfection. Our sever was very attentive and knowledgeable. Even tho our meal would take longer to prepare than normal. She made sure we were ok with appetizers and beverages as well as kept us entertained. The facility is an experience within itself. Around every corner is something else to see and experience. Lots of photographic and scenery opportunities.
