This is a Texas Panhandle Treasure and a MUST stop if you are in Amarillo. I have eaten at numerous steakhouses in Texas and across the country, but nothing beats this place. The food is Delicious, the steaks are perfectly cooked, the side items are amazing, and the desserts are outstanding. The service is fabulous! KUDOS to Jennifer who waited on me on 7.12.2024. I will definitely eat here again and I Highly appreciate this place.

Green Chile Willy's offers good country-style cooking. We stop in occasionally for a chicken-fried steak, fried chicken, or a burger. On our most recent visit my partner got the jalapeno chicken-fried steak and I did the chicken-fried chicken. Both had hearty nostalgic flavors, like food grandma used to make. We also shared the fried cheese and it was a nice savory starter. Service is warm and welcoming. It's a great spot to get a taste of the Panhandle.

So good! The wait was long, but worth it. The plates were big; I shared my green chili chicken fried steak comfortably. We asked for extra gravy and server brought a whole plate of it for the table- very generous! The fried pecan pie was incredible; such a good blend of salty and sweet! I would go back if in the area again.

Waited about an hour or so to be seated. It was just me and my granddaughter. We ordered our food, waitress wasn’t very friendly, she took our order and when she brought our food she didn’t ask if we needed anything else and didn’t check on us until we were done. That was the first time I ever been there and have been wanting to try it for a while. The waitress ruined it for me. And my food was warm but my granddaughters food was way too hot for to even pickup(chicken strips).

We ordered our food, waitress wasn’t very friendly, she took our order and when she brought our food she didn’t ask if we needed anything else and didn’t check on us until we were done. That was the first time I ever been there and have been wanting to try it for a while. The waitress ruined it for me. And my food was warm but my granddaughters food was way too hot for to even pickup(chicken strips).

This was our first trip to Green Chile Willy's and I'm sad that I haven't been here before. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing (that chicken fried steak smothered in green Chile hits the spot). I will 100% be back when we come through Amarillo. I tried talking my wife into moving to Amarillo so we could be closer. Please check it out you won't be sorry!!!!

I really enjoyed my meal here !! Table service was friendly and fun. The bacon green chile cheeseburger was incredible !! Thick slices of bacon and whole green chile dressed however you like it with a soft fresh bun and a fresh grilled patty. My belly is growling now just thinking about it. That and those onion rings would have been a perfect meal. I had to try their green chile Mac and cheese and a chicken fried steak too though… I was so stuffed !! I’m happy our waitress insisted that we try the fried pecan pie too …. Wow !! It’s not often that I find a restaurant that just seems to do everything right. I will be stopping here every time I visit Amarillo. Delicious !!
