Tokyo Japanese Steak House

We were seated right away. The chef was cooking for seven people. The rice portions are HUGE. My noodle portion was much smaller than the rice and it cost a good bit extra. The food tasted really good!! I loved the scallops and shrimp. The veggies are great and I LOVE the ginger dressing on the salad. Our chef didn’t do many tricks, didn’t toss shrimp in our mouth, wasn’t talkative. I wish he has more personality/ did more of the “fun” things you typically see when eating hibachi. We were seated towards the end of the seven people and I did notice I got less scallops and chicken than the others. I wish at least for the scallops, since you’re paying more, that you got a certain number. It was overall a good experience and the food was super tasty! I will definetly come back. The only other negative is that the chef was messy (see photo) and food was flung everywhere. I really didn’t like eating in such a messy environment.

Took a while for someone to greet us after we were seated. My initial order came out incorrect. The California rolls were bland, I don’t recommend at all. The hibachi chicken seemed extremely salty. The hibachi shrimp however was better. There was a hair in my plate, they addressed the issue and made me a new plate which was good.

DO NOT GO HERE!! We would give this place zero stars if possible. Not sure how they have such high ratings but compared to other hibachi places in and around the Nashville area this place was down right horrible. The food was bad as the inexperienced chefs over cooked pretty much everything. As far as entertainment by the chef the best they could do was very loud beat boxing on the grill with their utensils. Spilling sauce all over the table and not cleaning it up. The service was very slow and no one to clear your empty dishes during the meal. Everything just left to pile up. Segregated seating, like you gotta put only people that look a like together. JUST GROSS STAY AWAY!!

Highly recommend checking out Tokyo Japanese Steak House! The Wife and I really enjoyed our meals! Everything was delicious, hot, and the staff were all very kind to me when I came in. Looking forward to coming back and enjoying another meal :)! Thank you all!

Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse in Smyrna, TN is the VERY BEST Hibachi in all of Tennessee!!!! The food is absolutely delicious, mouth watering, flavorful and your taste buds will thank you. Whether dinning-in, or taking out, the food portions are generous, it’s definitely worth the price. Hibachi includes a salad (recommend trying the ginger dressing), miso soup, vegetables, two shrimp and protein of your choice. The Yum Yum sauce is fire (good). This is my go-to spot for date nights, Birthdays, special occasions, family outings and everything in between. I highly recommend checking this spot out. Hopefully it will become your go-to spot as well!

Great dinner as always. Not sure if owner has changed, but the wait staff sure has. We haven't been here in couple of years. Definitely not the same standards of service they once had.

The service and the atmosphere are great, but the food was less than subpar. Both me and my friend got sick from the spicy scallop roll and the hibachi dish that we shared would definitely try carefully when eating here. We did go very late at night, so maybe everything wasn't as fresh as it could've been, but I still think it should be fresh no matter what time of day you go

Men I love this place it is an amazing place to eat. The atmosphere is great. The food is amazing. I love that they make the food right in front of you because you get to see the detailed process of how the food is made. It adds another level to the whole experience. Also it is a great place for groups of friends or family to eat. The Chef is also nice and friendly. They also have an amazing shushi rolls but I love in particular the spider rolls it is awesome.
