Went for happy hour. Came early and got a seat by the window. The oysters were fantastic. The tempura green beans were done kids sloppily. Didn’t have the right tempura crunch and the fries I preferred were not crispy and probably the greasiest I have ever had. Worth coming for the view and drinks and the food was subpar aside from the oysters but it was happy hour menu. So it wasn’t too pricey. I would come back but don’t expect great food.

We have had some mixed success finding good steak options in Portland, with many times my husband getting the check and saying it wasn’t worth it. Well finally we found a spot that lived up to the hype and cost. Everything here was incredible - from the bread to the oysters to the ribeye - to the seafood. Service was absolutely phenomenal- with lots of personal touches to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The view was great as well and I would definitely come back at night to the city lit up. This is definitely at the top of our list for seafood & steak.

Portland City Grill is an absolute gem! From the moment you step into the building, you’re greeted with a stunning ambiance and breathtaking views that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The bar staff was incredibly welcoming, making the start of our evening feel warm and inviting. Once we were seated, the spacious layout of the dining area stood out, no cramped tables or overhearing neighboring conversations, which added to the relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Of course, I have to mention the view again, it’s simply spectacular and a highlight of the experience. Now, on to the food: delicious! I had the Chilean sea bass with lobster risotto, which was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. My friends ordered the filet and lobster tails, and every bite was just as amazing. A standout moment was the impressive table side presentation, where the waiter melted bone marrow onto the filet and lobster tails, such a great touch that made the meal feel extra special. The only small drawback was that service felt a bit slow, particularly when ordering cocktails. However, it wasn’t a major issue, as it gave us more time to enjoy the company, the setting, and again, that unbeatable view. Overall, this was the perfect spot for our date night, elegant, upscale, and everything I hoped for. Looking forward to returning soon. My date clearly has impeccable taste in restaurants!

The view is nice. Food is not so much. Rockfish tacos looked and tasted like a JR high school lunch. Blackened shrimp pasta was weird. Service and view were excellent. I would maybe go back for happy hour drinks and a snack. Don't bother with the main menu.

From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the ambiance. The restaurant boasts stunning views of the city skyline, which sets the perfect backdrop for a delightful meal. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, making it ideal for both special occasions and casual outings. Now, let's talk about the highlight of my meal: the Chicken Marsala. As a fan of Italian cuisine, I had high expectations, and Portland City Grill did not disappoint. The dish arrived beautifully plated, and I could immediately tell that great care had been taken in its preparation. The chicken breasts were perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors, enhanced by a light dusting of flour that created a delicate crust. The mushrooms were sautéed to perfection, adding an earthy richness to the dish. Their deep, savory flavor melded beautifully with the sweet notes of the Marsala wine sauce, which was the star of the show. It was a perfect balance of sweetness and depth, with hints of garlic and herbs that elevated the dish to new heights. What truly stood out was how the sauce clung to the chicken and mushrooms, creating a luscious coating that made each bite a delightful experience. I savored every mouthful, and the accompanying side of creamy mashed potatoes soaked up the sauce wonderfully, making it hard to resist finishing every last bit. The presentation was also noteworthy; the dish was garnished with fresh parsley, adding a vibrant touch that enhanced its visual appeal. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, with the staff eager to make recommendations and ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Overall, my visit to Portland City Grill was a culinary journey I won't soon forget. The Chicken Marsala was a standout dish that showcased the restaurant's commitment to quality and flavor. If you’re looking for a place to indulge in delicious food with a breathtaking view, I highly recommend stopping by Portland City Grill. You won't be disappointed

Came here on a Thursday night around 8pm; I did make a reservation online an hour prior to arrival with a party of 3. Got there at 745 and was seated instantly, and able to get a window seat. The view was amazing!! We ordered the Crabcake and Artisan cheese plate for appetizers; excellent! Then I got the shrimp and lobster carbonara and it was perfectly sauced and seasoned. My friends got the fire roasted Baja king Salmon and seafood trio! Everything was great!!!! We ordered drinks which were very strong. Overall, great experience!!!

The views are beautiful. We sat in the bar til our table was ready. Sitting in the bar and having a few drinks and a sushi roll was the vibe! As far as dinner service, our server was wonderful. The food was okay! Nothing I ate wowed my taste buds. Would I go back? For drinks and appetizers for sure!

My experience was wonderful. Christina the bartender served me with a beautiful smile and a heartfelt positive attitude. It was so needed after working 6 nights 13 hour shifts. I will come back and bring others with me. 😊
