Customer Review Summary
Clyde's Prime Rib Restaurant and Bar is a popular choice in town, well-loved for its prime rib and vintage ambiance. Reservations are recommended due to limited seating. Parking can be challenging, but nearby street parking is typically available. The atmosphere is dark, adding to its bar and music vibe. Many patrons enjoyed their meals, particularly the prime rib, which received positive remarks for its flavor and quality, although some found it could use more trimming. Various dish experiences varied, with the calamari and clam chowder receiving negative feedback for being bland and heavy, respectively. Service reviews were mixed; some patrons experienced delays and subpar service, while others praised the professionalism of their servers. Overall, the restaurant offers a nostalgic steakhouse experience with a mix of outstanding and mediocre dishes. The ambiance and historic feel are appreciated, making it worth a visit for those looking for a classic dining experience in Portland.

We loved Clydes and see why it is a town favorite! We squeezed in for an early dinner. Reservations are encouraged unless you want to roll the dice with the bar seating. The parking can be limited at the location, but street parking nearby seems to be available usually. The atmosphere is so dark! But, probably to accommodate the bar and music in the back. We enjoyed our prime rib and wedge salad immensely and we're hoping to go back soon. There were multiple things on the menu I'd like to try. Enjoy!

Enjoyed a prime rib lunch with the family. It feels reasonably priced and comparable to the 9900 in Beaverton. The bar and dining area are both classic vintage. Clean and relaxed. Probably a good place for a date. I thought the prime rib could have been trimmed a bit more, but I’m no steak expert. There was a lot of trimming to do though. Their French onion soup is very nice, not overly salty like some. My wife was very complementary of the pork ribs she had. She thought the broccoli was over salted. No salt and pepper at the table, but no doubt they would bring some if you asked.

Overall was okay. Relax place. Would not come back. Calamari was not worth it. Bland. Humus was okay Clam chowder not worth it. Heavy on the cream. Hanger steak failed Prime rib was good. Sauce good. Baked potato was decent. Wish the loaded variety had other toppings like cheese Chocolate cake was just that. Key lime was good Service was meh. Make sure to have low expectations from them. I.e. they gave me a box for soup instead of a soup container

Outstanding experience at Clyde’s Prime Rib! The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and tender. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch. Easily one of the best steaks I’ve had in Portland. Highly recommend! The cocktails are great

Came while visiting portland as a place to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived a little early so there was a bit of a wait until we were seated. There was great live music in the bar area. As we were seated we waited at least 10 mins before our server even acknowledged our presence. We got our drink orders and food. The drinks took another 10 minutes to arrive and the food took 40+ minutes. We ordered the Brussel sprouts as appetizers and they were a bit soggy and sad. Husband ordered the prime rib which is what the restaurant is known for and it was only okay. I had the ravioli and the toppings took up more than half the plate and made it unappealing. We finished with cheesecake which we could definitely taste a bit of freezer burn. For the cost was fairly disappointing especially when the city is known for its food culture

Exactly what you want from an old school Portland steakhouse. So fun! I was expecting Saylor’s level lower quality but it was actually really nice cuts of steak cooked to your specifications. Old school stuff like the only one veg side option was funny but I loved it. Everything was well cooked and well seasoned. Worth it for the food and the experience of this historic place. We came with my sister and brother in law and had an awesome time drinking wine and enjoying the space. My partner and I will come back for some jazz in the lounge sometime soon, such a vibe. I got the tenderloin and it was gorgeous and the perfect amount of food, probably 4in across. The ribeyes were massive and we took most of it home but they were wonderful too. Just so fun, I love this place. We really enjoyed adding a lobster tail to the steak for $25, so decadent and just so fun.

Omg! Let me start with the lounge! Cozy, warm with a real fire place, that I ensured to sit close to while awaiting my table. I was immediately sitted, and I started dinner with the most delicious, authentic, aromatic clam chowder I have ever tasted in my entire existence. I am Not exaggerating!! Then came my entree. I requested my broccoli al dente. And I had the most delicious rib eye steak, with onions and mushrooms, and garlic herbed mashed potatoes! Washed down with my favorite baileys Irish Cream. My server was professional and polite. I made sure to order two beers for two chefs in the kitchen. I will go back!!!

Don't listen to any poor reviews. It's just not true. I've been a couple times and the food and service has been top notch. Today we got the hanger steak with chimichurri, the baby back ribs and the pork sirloin. Plus the peartinis. All was amazing. Incredible food. We love the old school atmosphere too.
