We just Stopped in to check it out and were drawn in by the gorgeous river view and the Argyle Brut. Our server Shava was great, very friendly. . Our brunch was super delicious. We both had the two egg breakfast with bacon. We really could have e stayed here all day. We'll be back for sure.

Beautiful place, amazing views, delicious food, kind staff. We started with the mushroom bruschetta. I had the sea bass, perfectly cooked with risotto and a generous cup of carrot ginger bisque. He had the double pork chop with a roasted Brussels sprouts and a vegetable hash. We finished with a Marion berry crumble. All the flavors were bright and crisp—a perfect complement to a mild fall evening. Our meal was made extra-special by our server, Robbie, who was friendly and attentive. Lovely evening.

We visited for a birthday celebration not having been there in years. The remodel is lovely - it's a beautiful space. The location, with a full view of the river, is the highlight of this restaurant. The food was variable in quality. My dish featured a beautiful salmon filet that was cooked nicely. Unfortunately, it was laid over an over-salted bed of cooked winter greens. The salt level killed the rest of the dish's flavors. The menu features mid-range dishes that are pub fare - fish & chips, sandwiches, etc. - and high-end entrees at twice the cost and deliver half the food. I get that I ordered salmon and not a burger but the contrast in quantity was stark. A salad could easily be offered with the entrees since the plates are minimalist. The service was variable - it wasn't a full house and yet our server didn't check back much otherwise I would have sent the salty plate back. I had requested a quiet location since we had some people who are hard of hearing at our table. We were placed smack in the middle of the restaurant. It wasn't full, which was to our benefit, but it also seems that they simply didn't accommodated the request.

Little busy but worth the wait, I'd recommend a reservation. Vegetarian options and beautiful view of the river.

Wow! Talk about reopening with a bang! Sweet Waters is a whole new experience now. Only being reopened 4 days and they are truly on to something. The new layout, decor and overall ambience is elevated to say the least. No longer dated, very contemporary, with both beautiful and cozy touches. The service was top notch, warm, inviting and attentive without being intrusive. The manager Tom was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were seated on the patio with a great view of the river. -The food- one of the best meals we have had in a long time. We tried the Salmon Corndogs, incredible. The calamari was perfectly cooked, the crispy sweet pepper garnish was excellent. I had the Scallop entree and my husband had the Halibut. They were both beautifully presented, cooked perfectly and packed full of flavor. Finally we had the Marion berry crisp a la mode, the perfect way to end a lovely meal on a summer evening on the patio. We definitely recommend it and we will be back again soon!

*** update (a few years later, since the end of 2022!). This was my first trip since they’ve reopened and it is wonderful. The place looks even better than before. Original post (before the hotel closed down for renovations) below. Sat outside because it was a nice day today. Still awesome 🌊 🍸 ✨ ======= Great food and great service. Lovely view of the river just outside. Stayed at the Valley River Inn again and came in for dinner. Ordered steak, chowder and coffee. Grabbed a marionberry cheesecake to-go. It was divine. Possibly the best chowder I’ve ever had, too. Lobster chowder. It was fantastic. Highly recommend.

I would not recommend coming here on a holiday. My husband and I went last night. We didn't have a reservation so we expected to be waiting. We never got a table which was fine we sat on the couch by the fire and we told them we were fine eating here go ahead and let someone else have a table. We ordered and did not receive our food for 2 hours. They forgot to put our order in. When we did get the food finally it was almost cold like it had been sitting for awhile. My husband ordered the steak it wasn't very good. My pasta wasn't good either and like I said most of it was cold the highlight of the meal was the bread that was free. The good thing is they excepted they messed up and acted accordingly. They gave us half off our entire bill without us even asking. So I suggest don't eat here on a holiday. The menu is half the normal size and the food just isn't as good as a normal night. They will fix there mistake though and we're very polite even if they forgot about us.
