This has got to be one of my top favorite places in the area for high end, delicious food. Every bite was sensational! We started with the Salmon Crudo, I could honestly eat 5 plates of this and have been dreaming about it since. Next we had beef and rice balls which were perfectly crispy on the outside and flavor was off the charts. My husband had the dungeoness crab pasta and I had the duck - both were incredible. Cocktails were great too, and the service was fantastic. 10/10

George + Violet’s strikes the perfect balance between upscale dining and small-town charm, creating an ambiance that’s both casual and elegant. From the moment you walk in, the owners and staff make you feel like family, going above and beyond to ensure an exceptional experience. The food is nothing short of amazing. Each dish is beautifully crafted, with flavors that are both creative and memorable. Whether you’re sharing a romantic date night or dining as a family with toddlers in tow, this place accommodates effortlessly, making every occasion feel special. It’s rare to find a restaurant where everything aligns so perfectly—quality, service, and atmosphere—but George + Violet’s has mastered it. Truly a hidden gem that we’ll keep coming back to!

A year ago, we had two previous good experiences here, and chose it for our anniversary dinner. According to their website, they prefer email for reservations. We emailed them on Monday and never received a reply. On Wednesday we called to confirm, and left voicemail, but again no response. On Thursday we finally spoke to someone and had to complain to get a reservation when they said they were already full. They criticized us for not calling, when we pointed out their website clearly states email is preferred.(see pic) We ordered the Tri Tip that we had ordered previously and enjoyed. This time, we received basic generic French fries, rather than the red potatoes they had before, with delicious seasoning and sauce. In addition, they charged us for the $60 12 oz steaks, when we ordered the 8oz for $28 each. We were so disappointed enough to not return again.

Our go-to fancy casual spot in the Eugene area. Superlative attention to all details of food, drink, and service. Really appreciate their care and consideration with ingredients and about dietary restrictions too! Their specials rotate based on local, seasonal ingredient availability and their main menu gets an update every so often too. If you're looking for a special occasion spot or even just a place to go for a delicious dinner out, George and Violet's is it.

Fantastically curated menu. Not too many nor too few options. Everything was great. Steak was perfect. My Ceaser salad made me question my spiritual beliefs. I'm born again, and you could be too. Try it out.

First of, before we get into the food, I'd like to compliment our server. He was friendly, attentive and was very prompt. The food was delicious and everything put together was outstanding. I loved all the food and the desserts were very flavorful without being too sweet. I'd much prefer these desserts opposed to many of the bake shops around town. We had smoked earl grey ice cream, fig something really yummy and Panna cotta. This is the 1st time I've been here. We are picky about our steaks. The medium was a true medium with the perfect amount of Pink, but the char on the outside was just the right amount. I'm so happy with my birthday meal and I'll definitely be returning. This is a gem for Springfield. There's been some nice additions in the past few years, but I'd say this is by far the best restaurant in the city by far.

We went to George + Violet's in Springfield last night and they are, hands down, our favorite restaurant. Pretty, comfortable, vintage atmosphere with no pretension. The food is absolutely delectable, and well presented. We had baked brie, rainbow trout, and crab pasta. We had roast duck and brisket last time. Perfection. Run by a kind woman who manages all the things and her chef husband who cooks to make people happy. They are a delight! Plus, the owners are too modest to mention this, but the server was happy to tell us Julia Roberts has dined there twice.

I communicated with the waiter I had a gluten allergy - he assured us the menu was “very gluten free” and named off a few items we couldn’t order. We ordered 2 hand rolls to start and the pork cheek bourguignon & 12oz ribeye. Hand rolls were a 3/10 max (king salmon one was overcooked the pork one was just…. Meh). Ribeye came out overcooked, definitely an 8oz not 12. The fries that came with both dishes were laughably bad. I had one bite of the pork cheek and immediately started having an allergic reaction. I was in shock as my partner tried to get the bill and get us out of there. Oddly, there was no acknowledgment or apology from the waiter. He came over looking confused and brought us our bill and then walked away and we never saw him again. I called the restaurant the next day to talk to someone about what happened, and the woman (i think the owner?) on the phone basically told me i was crazy and there was “nothing with gluten” they served me. I don’t and have never had this reaction without being served something with wheat. My partner then called and the woman was defensive & dismissive with him as well. TLDR: This place sucks. It’s hard to see a local business struggle, but when they are so dismissive and hostile towards something so serious it’s hard to root for their success. The food was bad, the cocktails were bad, and the service was 0/10. If you’re going to serve me something im allergic to and then lie about it I would at the very least expect for that portion of the meal to be compensated.
