Our first time there and the food was delicious! I sweet tea was great! I rarely order tea because I usually only like my tea but this tea was great! If you're looking for extremely dim atmosphere this is your place....waitress was great! Great prices! I had already started eating and then took the picture. The mushroom fries, onion rings and we had a stacked burger salad (I think that's what it was called).....SO dang good!

Real nice old school tavern/restaurant. Service was quick and polite. Rib appetizer was a perfect size for two. Wife had the small filet, cooked a perfect medium rare. I had the angus chopped steak… not fancy but very good. We just happened upon this spot while traveling.

I originally grew up in Cincinnati and Montgomery Inn was the place to go for Ribs. Buckhorn’s Ribs put Montgomery Inn to shame. The bread, salads and Ribs are all top notch and the value is unbelievable. The atmosphere is very quaint and the servers are very attentive. Truly a first class dining experience that you don’t see too much nowadays. Hidden gem in Dayton that a lot of people probably don’t know about!

We were seated quickly. The food was good. We order the rib and pork chop dinner. Our guests ordered a fish dinner and steak dinner. The server was not that personable. At the end of the meal she asked our family members/guests from out of town, if they were our parents. Which implies they looked old. My wife and I are 51/54. Our guests are the same age. The woman in our party was upset and the server almost lost her tip for that comment. After the server, saw the expression on our guests face, she quickly walked away and didn’t come back. My wife and I would go there again, we would ask for a different server when we do go back.

We loved it there, the atmosphere how it looks on the inside and outside the area

Hadn't been to the buckhorn in 20+years, and will never return. All of the food was not hot. I sent my food back to be heated. Full slab ribs, and grilled mixed veggies. Husband was too hungry to send his back. He ordered ribeye , steak fries, sweet potato dish, fried onions and grilled mushrooms all not hot. So disappointing. The waitress told us that the kitchen is just a mess and never have their stuff together. Wish I knew that before ordering. And before anyone says why didn't you speak to a manager, our waitress knew we were unhappy with everything. So a manager knew as well. They did take $10 off the bill.

An amazing secret! We never knew this place existed. A friend at my husband's work mentioned it when we were looking for Valentines plans and we have gone twice in the last two weeks. Steaks are amazing, perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. Got the 10 oz filet both times! My husband had their ribs, and absolutely fell in love! Fried green tomatoes are great! Bexley salad is a perfect complement! The atmosphere and staff are welcoming, the classic rock music is reminiscent, and you will feel at home in this restaurant. Lynn, is absolutely the best! She is attentive and you can tell she loves what she does! We have found a new favorite, and will return for years to come! If you like martinis, the Sinatra Tini, with blue cheese stuffed olives is out of this world! Only bummed we didn't know of this place sooner.
