My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our first time dining out at Dean Martin’s Lanning’s Restaurant last night! His oysters, filet mignon with onions, asparagus and baked potato and my shrimp scampi and baked potato were amazing! We missed not having a complimentary salad with our meals like some restaurants have. We enjoyed the roll choices, although they weren’t warm, which is my preference. The ambience was amazingly beautiful and our server, Patrick, was excellent! We plan to come back sometime in the future.

We had an amazing experience at Dean Martin's Lanning's for our annual end-of-year dinner with friends! From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional – greeted with a smile, coats checked, and doors opened for us. The beet appetizer was absolutely delicious, and the Wagyu pastrami was described as a "religious experience" by some at our table. My husband and I shared the ribeye, which was cooked to perfection, and the scampi was fantastic. The lobster mac and cheese was also a hit, and the mashed potatoes were just like homemade – and trust me, I make the best mashed potatoes! The butter cake was the perfect way to end the meal, and our service was top-notch. We never felt rushed, allowing us to enjoy our time chatting with friends. As people who enjoy cooking at home, it’s rare that we find a meal that we think we can't recreate, but Dean Martin's Lanning's truly impressed us. It was such a refreshing experience to find a place that takes pride in delivering a fantastic dining experience. We will definitely be back!

Very classy resturaunt. Elegant. We had a window table with a nice view of the river. Our waiter was great. We ordered the trout and filet which were both good, but for the price we were hoping it to be fantastic. Our side dishes seemed to be very bland. Espresso martini 10/10. Wedge salad 10/10

My girlfriend and I went out for our anniversary. We chose this restaurant because it had recently been named “the best steakhouse in the greater Cleveland area”. My girlfriend and I have been to many of the steakhouses throughout northeast Ohio but not this one so we decided to give it a try. Our waitress was great and we had no complaints there. The atmosphere was old school but nice. We got sat next to the window so we could see the river next to the building. The drinks were fantastic. Bread service was excellent. The stone crab special was over priced in my opinion but still, it was good. Then the steaks came. From looking at it before we cut in, we were excited. They looked amazing. I cut into my bone-in ribeye and saw what I posted. It was not medium rare like how I asked, it was basically raw. My girlfriend who ordered the filet orders medium and it was basically well done. Our waitress came over and asked how everything was. I had not had a bite because of the rawness of my steak. My girlfriend had one bite of her steak and was incredibly disappointed in how it was cooked and how dry it was. Our waitress took them both back and said they will re-cook them. The manager then comes back over with my girlfriends steak to show us the filet, saying “what was the issue with the filet”. We stated we thought it was over cooked for medium and the manager replied with “this is our medium”. While the picture is not the greatest, I will say there was a little pink in the dead center of the steak but not medium. At this point I was extremely upset that the manager would come back with the steak and try to argue with the customer. I asked if we could just pay for our appetizers and drinks and leave. The manager then said “we can warm yours up to temp and remake the filet”. I did not want that after the steak being brought back being told it was medium. The manager then said “we can only comp you for one of the steaks”. I’m not sure why that is if we did not even eat them. But I said that’s fine. I’ll take the one that was undercooked home. Overall just a terrible experience with the steaks. I have no idea how this place was voted best steakhouse in the greater Cleveland area when this is what they are serving for $65. I feel bad for our waitress because she was great and everything leading up to this point was good.

From the very start it was a five star experience. First the servers assistant stopped by followed by the server. All courses were timed perfectly and the 14oz waygu ribeye was out of this world. Everyone in the party loved all of their food! The owner himself even stropped by the table to converse with us. I couldn’t have been more pleased!

Service was good. New the menu and drinks very well, Not overbearing. Love the lounge singer. Food was amazing. Mostly steaks and some fish on menu. Halibut was amazing. No chicken though. All sides are meant to be shared a la carte. Parking seemed limited used valet. Owner came and greeted us. We had a great time.

The service is impeccable and the restaurant is tastefully decorated. The food, however, was much less impressive. We started with the bacon wrapped scallops. They were ok, but absolutely not '$34 ok' for two small scallops. The wait time between courses was incredibly long, which I imagine is where my next menu item went wrong. My husband had the filet and loved it. I ordered the salmon mid-rare, and it was given to me at room temperature. I have to imagine it sat for a while. The inside was incredibly rare, which honestly I can handle, but the fish at least needs to be hot. I asked the waiter if they could flash/sear it again to get some heat into it, thinking they would use a pan. Instead, they threw it on the grill and charred it. Then my still pretty cold on the inside salmon, was warm on the surface but tasted of nothing but char. I didn't want to bother them about it again at that point, but for $45 that was a very disappointing cut of salmon. The mashed potatoes were ok, but the mushrooms were pretty abysmal. They were served in a dish of what seemed to be water/mushroom broth, and had absolutely no seasoning. This may be because it was all washed off in the mushroom water bath. The mac n cheese dish for the kids could stand to be a little creamier and again, really lacked flavor. Outside of my husband's steak, this was a very disappointing meal, especially at that price point. The view was lovely though!

Dinning like this is an experience that Lanning’s gets right. You don’t spend this kind of money on the food alone. What you get for that experience is an extensive wine and spirts list, remarkable food and a knowledge staff that is as attentive as you need them to be. This is the perfect place to pamper your significant other, or impress those out of town clients.
