This place was nice and the food was homemade. I didn’t give it 5 stars for a couple small reasons. Our waitress was very attentive but like to talk and shared a few too many personal statues while we were trying to eat. Also, you have to take your own bill up to the cash register. Like I said, the food was good and homemade but a few little shortcuts were taken… the garlic bread was just white hamburger buns that were buttered and toasted. The eggplant parmigiana was good but they just laid a few very thin slices of fried eggplant on top of the spaghetti which didn’t really make that yummy layer experience that eggplant parmigiana usually gives you. The fried mushrooms were homemade and delicious. But the portion was a little small for the price. The atmosphere was nice but was pretty basic. It is just a big room with tables and booths - nothing to break up the space or the noise. All in all, it was good, but would I go back - probably not- there are other options out there that add a little more pizzazz or things that make you want to come back time and time again. The crowd seemed to be mostly older people and I’m sure they like the no fuss home style atmosphere.

Honestly, the food was solid, but there’s a story about how the business is run that needs to be told. When I walked in, the establishment was nearly empty. The hostess greeted me with a pleasant attitude and gave me a quick rundown of the menu. She introduced me to the waitress and even assisted with putting my order in. I ordered a Deli Stromboli, requesting to substitute the ham and salami with Italian sausage, effectively creating a sausage and pepperoni Stromboli. The adjustments were made, and I waited for my food. When it arrived, the Stromboli looked appetizing, with a lightly browned crust, plenty of cheese, and a modest portion of meat. After eating half, I asked for the check. To my surprise, the bill read: Deli Stromboli $12.95, No Ham, No Salami, Add Sausage - $3.50. This resulted in a significant 27% increase in the price of the item, despite removing two meats and adding only one. I addressed my concern with both the waitress and the hostess, who acknowledged my point. The hostess consulted the owner, who was present, and was told that the charge would stand because the sausage was flown in from Italy. Whether this is true or not, I can't say. However, I do know there is another Italian restaurant right down the block, Francesco’s, that serves a very similar Stromboli with excellent service and doesn’t charge 27% more for imported ingredients. Francesco’s is just as good, if not better, and offers a comparable Stromboli at a more reasonable price. The ambience at Sylvia’s is fine, and both the waitress and the hostess were very friendly. However, I question the judgment of the owner. The hostess did her best to make things right, but that doesn’t excuse the decision made by the owner. Staff should not have to cover up for such pricing misjudgments.

Great mom n pop Italian style restaurant. I had pizza, she had manicotti. Both were delicious. The waitress was punctual and polite. Will eat here again.

Folks have told us they love this place but our experience was different. Our time was colored by a lack of care. I had to track our server down in the kitchen to ask for napkins, after food had been delivered. Then she came to the table and asked if we needed napkins because had spilled something? The salad looked like it was slung on the plate. The "garlic bread" that came with my chicken Parm was a sub bun cut in half and baked. The spaghetti noodles had been sitting in water way too long. My wife got the Big Fat Greek Plate and her chicken was so overcooked it had feathered. We never did get our ticket so we just had to go to the counter to pay. The food seemed more institutional and coupled with a lack of service, we probably won't be back. I pray their management will inspire some pride in their restaurant again.

I can't believe i got charge 6.50 for an extra beef party. 3 for bacon and 1.50 for onion rings. Plus a charge of 3.5% for operational fee. My lunch went from 9.25 to 24 dollars. Non of the prices were in the menu. Let's see original menu price 9.50 for a cheese burger and fries. 6.50+1.50+3.0+.79=11.79. I should order two cheese burgers

The restaurant was so cute and everybody was so nice, but with the name honey tree I thought it would have more unique honey-centered foods. Nevertheless, the food was good. The only negative thing I could say about it is I had the creamy potato soup and it was waaaay more watery than creamy, with not very much flavor. But Eeeeverything else was delicious with very generous portions. Will definitely be back!

The experience was very great because it is hard to find good food and customer service. It was absolutely good especially the prices are affordable and quantity is excellent. I love everything about this restaurant and the owner/workers are very welcoming and make you feel welcomed.

First time at this establishment. Not too impressed with the atmosphere (as I went during lunchtime). I actually expected the decor to be more “up to date” and not so outdated. The servers were friendly but really could not recommend food options to try. My party ordered a couple of appetizers and two of the Greek dishes. Overall the food was ok. I probably will come again only to check out the breakfast. Would I recommend this restaurant to others? Hmmm…well maybe. But it would not be my top choice.
