There was nothing about our initial visit to Sage & Salt that didn’t impress. We sat at the bar (reservations on Open Table are broken out for bar, dining room and both patios) and enjoyed drinks and dinner in the very capable hands of Tom behind the bar. He made excellent drink and dinner suggestions (he makes one heck of a Manhattan). Our appetizer choice was the tuna tower, very fresh with flavors that complemented each other well. For entrees we had the rack of lamb and sea scallops, both perfectly cooked and delicious. Their cheesecake comes from Alex’s so you know it’s top notch, and the rice pudding brûlée was a creative take on a traditional dessert. Cannot recommend this place enough, it has a great “it” factor that makes it a welcome addition to the WS restaurant scene. We’re already planning our next trip there.

Spectacular food and atmosphere. The food is exquisite, great selection and prepared perfectly . Extensive drink selections, salad was fresh, tasty and shred with more than enough, bread service and crab dip was delicious, shrimp primavera was as divine but the half chicken was out of this world! The server knew her recommendations and was spot on. The mine music was an added bonus. The place is for to exceed expectations. Don’t miss this if in the area.

I had a delicious meal here last week! I came for a solo birthday dinner on Friday around 630pm and was able to sit at the bar immediately. The bar looks into the kitchen so you can see all of the activity going on. I took a look at their menu and opted for their smoked old fashioned, bacon wrapped scallops, and the grilled shrimp pasta primavera. Everything was scrumptious. I don't even like old-fashioned, but I can't turn down a drink when there's the option to have it smoked! And the drink itself was so smooth, had just a touch of sweetness that let me enjoy and sip on it slowly throughout my meal. The bacon scallops were out of this world- so tender and juicy and full of flavor, and the same goes for my pasta. It had such a savory but also light cream sauce that just satisfied my palate perfectly. I should have tried a dessert but I was too full for any more food. This is definitely some place to treat yourself! It is pricier, no doubt, but worth every cent and I would recommend it for any special occasion. Service was friendly, attentive, all around just a really great dining experience here. One very small note- the bar seats are an awkward 2-3 inches too short, in my opinion! I felt like the counter was just too high- but that doesn't detract from the quality of the food or service at all! Highly recommend adding this spot on WS bucket list.

Fantastic place. We've eaten here 3 weeks in a row and it keeps impressing us. The wait staff is exceptional...very conscientious. The owner Tom is the best. He's very passionate about having the freshest seafood and an exciting menu. They're is nothing like it in Winston.

I went here for the first time and was impressed! Love the atmosphere and the vibes. If you sit at the bar, you get a cool view of the kitchen. It is a smaller space and felt a little cramped at times. Staff was great and very friendly. The cocktails were delicious and food was great. We loved the Filet and Mashed potatoes. The Caesar Salad was yummy and so was the Chicken Parmesan. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend making a reservation.

We came here a little later and everything was still absolutely amazing, I suggest making a reservation to avoid a wait. (The wait was my fault because the other place we had reservations for was closed) we decided to sit outside because the weather was great and it felt more intimate. The food was cooked to perfection, it has been a while since I've had good lamb and they cooked it to a perfect medium-rare. My mom and husband both had the filets and stated that their steaks were also cooked to perfection. They have a massive wine list and a good amount of signature cocktails. The deserts my husband and I got were the perfect end to an amazing meal, I had the new York cheesecake and my husband had the sourcream pound cake. This place is pricey but in my opinion it was worth it. We will definitely be back.

Overall, the food here is very good. But I’m still very confused. I made a reservation online for Sage and Salt Bistro through Open Table. However, when I showed up, the hostess then proceeds to take me outside to walk down a long walkway, to another adjoining restaurant, saying this is where my reservation was actually for. Apparently it’s a second restaurant they are working with. Both restaurants apparently offer both menus and share the same kitchen space? Or something like that? I’m not really sure. But when I sat down my wife and I were given menus for both restaurants. She ordered from one menu and I ordered from another. And unfortunately, for however this place is setup, there are two kitchens that are serving both menu restaurants, and not coordinating with each other. My food came out at least 15 minutes before hers did as a result. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. The very confusing experience has left me baffled about what restaurant I actually ate at, why they have two different menus, and why serving the food at the same time was so difficult for them. Especially considering we dropped over $100 for this restaurant. And while the food was definitely excellent, there is something weird and confusing happening. I still don’t know what to make of it, other than I am unlikely to ever come back. Hopefully management will work out whatever is happening. If they are going to run two different restaurants, please actually do so. I still don’t know what restaurant I ate it.

First time in since Willows bistro, as soon I walk to the front patio i was welcome and then proceeded to the host that in a second she welcome me and sat me, I ask for outside seating it was a beautiful day and the furniture on the front patio it’s amazing, I did have a reservation it was a Wednesday around 6:15 and it was starting to get busy. My waitress Camille was amazing very attentive and her smile she is awesome. Food and the wine was very impressive cook perfectly as I order and the owner when and check on how was everything I’m very satisfied with my visit I’ll definitely come back Camille offer me some desserts that I most try next visit. And for those that says it’s over price I don’t think it is for the type of restaurant compare with others price is right !!!
